Would you like to be part of the nursery team that grow and maintain the plants for one of New Zealand's most iconic garden spaces - The Auckland Domain Wintergardens
Responsibilities include the care and growing on of perennials, annual & bulbs for the temperate house, along with other more general nursery tasks with the team.
This rare opportunity has now arisen. We are looking for a hard working, energetic and experienced nursery person to join the team based at Auckland Domain.
Requirements are as follows:
NCH level 4 in horticulture - nursery production preferred or ideally a minimum of 5 years nursery production
Experience with perennials, annual & bulbs plants would be a definite advantage
A full, clean NZ driver's license (manual driving skills) is necessary.
Ability to work as part of a team as well as working independently
A strong customer focus
Sound communication skills
Planning abilities and able to meet deadlines
Be able to work unsupervised
Ability to comply with health and safety requirements
An eye for detail and results focused
A "can-do" enthusiastic work ethic
Aptitude with small plant and equipment
Stamina with a good level of fitness and agility
Ability to work in a high public use arena
Ability to do weekend work every two or three weeks
This position works
40 hours per week, rostered between the hours of 6.30am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday with some weekend hours and overtime as required.

Looking after our native plant collections and nursery at the native botanic gardens at Otari-Wiltons Bush you will be a key member of the wider Botanic Gardens team.
Reporting to the Otari-Wiltons Bush Team Manager this position will also work with the Visitor Experience Team Manager and Botanic Gardens Educator as we seek to tell our stories through plants, our collections and events. You will be accountable for the highest standards of horticultural practice in New Zealand's only public garden entirely dedicated to native plants.
As the Curator you will be looking after our heritage gardens (Lady Norwood Rose Garden, Bolton Street Cemetery and Truby King Park), and be a key member of the Botanic Gardens team. With the team you will be responsible for the delivery of high standards of horticultural practice expected of one of New Zealand's leading botanic gardens.
