St. Josaphat School is having a wonderful week celebrating Catholic Schools Week 2016!

Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States.  It starts the last Sunday in January and celebrates a different theme each day with Masses, activities, and appreciation for our students, our teachers and staff, and our parents.  This year, the national theme for Catholic Schools Week is Catholic Schools:  Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service, and we know our school exemplifies that theme every day.

To celebrate our wonderful school and the gift of Catholic Education, students celebrated an all-school Mass on Monday and were treated to a homework-free night!  On Tuesday, we promoted our outstanding school spirit with a friendly classroom spirit competition and school trivia.  We raised money for the Archdiocese to sponsor students who do not have the means to attend a Catholic school.  Today, we honored Miss Betty Milner for her 25 years of service to St. Josaphat and helped stock the parish soup kitchen with donations of noodle cups.  Tomorrow, the faculty's favorite activity, Teacher Appreciation Breakfast will give our wonderful teachers a much-deserved break and delicious breakfast followed in the afternoon by the annual Teachers v. Eighth Graders volleyball game!

Throughout this week, we have all had a lot of fun, but more importantly, we have all been reminded to stop and give thanks that we are fortunate enough to be active participants in Catholic education and its contributions to our families, our church, and our community!
