Welcome to the latest edition of Heart-2-Heart!
 
Heart-2-Heart  is published on the First Friday of each month by the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We offer this as our gift to you with the hopes that our story and the spirituality of the Sacred Heart will touch your heart as you strive to live the Gospel in your daily life.  
      As February begins, the seasons and "years" of the Church will take a quick shift. The Year of Consecrated Life ends February 2 and we continue on in this Jubilee Year of Mercy, which began December 8, 2015. The Lenten season begins, also, on February 10, Ash Wednesday. Perhaps these shifts of focus can cause us to make some shifts in our own lives. These "shifts" are not those that require a deep, wholesale conversion. Rather, they call us to make a shift of the heart. That is the key of Lent; that is the key of this Year of Mercy: A shift of the heart.

May these Lenten days remind us that not only do we need God's love and mercy in our lives, but we need to be God's love and mercy for "the others" in our life, whoever they might be. 

Pope Francis states, "God's me rcy can make even the driest land become a garden, can restore life to dry bones (cf. Ez 37:1-14)...Let us be renewed by God's mercy, let us be loved by Jesus, let us enable the power of his love to transform our lives too; and let us become agents of this mercy, channels through which God can water the earth, protect all creation and make justice and peace flourish" (Easter Urbi et Orbi message on March 31, 2013). 
During this Lenten season, may we be agents of mercy as we invite God to shift our hearts toward his merciful Heart. 

Jesus meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like yours. Our Lady, Mother of Mercy, pray for us.
