Anna Wintour ... with her trademark pageboy bob haircut and sunglasses, she has become an institution throughout the fashion world, widely praised for her eye for fashion and support for young designers. She was photographed by Mario Testino, for this WSJ cover. Portrayed loosely in "Devil Wears Prada" ... she is a fascinating, complex personality. Who is both feared and admired! Kate Winslet... also posed for Mario Testino, who shot this April cover for the April issue of British Vogue. The featured article is on her fresh new body, hair and life! New Additions to the Family Page |
the Family Page, includes several new mothers and daughters.
Having moms bring their daughters, and grand-daughters to me, is especially meaningful ... as the relationships that are built, encompass new generations.

Happy Easter!
Well, I don't know about any of you, but I'm really glad that daylight savings has ended ...
and it is now starting to get dark at a reasonable hour!

Springtime
A Great Time for Renewal ... and Fresh Looks
Old friends ... and new friends. Each was into the salon this last week. >Ameri . . . many of my long-time clients will well remember this remarkable lady. Her smile graced the front desk at Bill Rose Hair Design (1984-1995), for over 4 years. Diane and I met (and hired) her, when she was only 13, and was just entering high school. Initially, she arrived as a volunteer model ... and agreed to allow me to do "anything I wanted", with her hair! Over the years, I have photographed her dozens of times ... some of which, were displayed on the walls of our salon, in Mission Viejo. We were so impressed by her, that we had to have her work for us. She handled the job as well as a much more experienced person. Today, she is a Headhunter, and helps fill high level executive positions. She is married, and has a young son. <Carrie . . . few clients have impacted me, recently, quite as much as she. I met her in December, when she was sent to me by her mom, whom she was visiting at the time. She was completely ready for an entirely new look ... BUT ... I thought it wise, to be a little cautious. You may recall her pictures in my January eBulletin She just returned for another visit, with her mom ... and had to come see me, to continue her adventure! Even her mom was shocked! There is no doubt that she is having a wonderful time, discovering a "new" self. Carrie works for the Environmental Protection Agency, in Dallas. >Leila . . . one of my special assistants, who helped me for far too short a period of time. She left to focus on being a mother to her 12 year old daughter, when her mother had to return to China. Perhaps, one day, she will work for me again. I would definitely enjoy that ... and so would many of my clients, who remember her fondly. |
