Carine Roitfeld ... one of the least known, but most influential fashion personalities in the world.  For 10 years, the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Paris, she resigned in December 2010, to pursue "personal interests".  Once thought to be the heir apparent to Anna Wintour, for the top job at American Vogue, there was much speculation as to why she resigned. Internal politics, no doubt.

She has now resurfaced as the Guest Editor and Stylist for the Barneys of New York Fall/Winter 2011 Campaign.  Being an ex-model, she is utilizing her celebrity, along with her daughter and son, to add extra notoriety to her first work in America.

Vogue Magazine is over 100 years old, and is published in 18 countries.  It has never had a single male Editor in Chief.
