Xmas Lights It is hard to believe that 2014 is almost ready for the history books.  This is my favorite time of year, with it's festive mood and sparkling decorations.  I hope it is one of yours also!

Happy Holidays!

2015 Schedule Change

The new year will mark my 39th year as a hairstylist.

I started in 1976 attending beauty school in St. Louis, and immediately moved to Southern California, where I have worked in only 6 salons over these many years ... far fewer than most hairdressers.  My long -time clients remember my own salon that I ran in Mission Viejo from 1985-1995.

I LOVE what I do, and hope to continue for many more years!  If my wife and I can ballroom dance, I certainly can get into the salon to spend time with my wonderful clients.

However, to be able to spend more time enjoying being a husband, father and grand-father, I will be reducing my schedule at Gods & Heros starting with the new year.  My old assistant Michelle, who worked with me for 2 years from September 2009 to 2011, will be sharing my station with me.  She has now returned to Gods & Heros after a 2 year stint at another salon, where she started building her clientele.

My schedule will rotate between Wed/Fri one week ... and Tues/Thurs/Sat the following week.  My salon hours will remain the same as in the past.  For clients who routinely schedule their appointments several weeks or more in advance ... they will perceive little or no change. For those of you who typically find they must make arrangements just days ahead, we will have to work together as this transition may pose some small challenges. But not to fear ... we WILL make it work.

Please see my new schedule (by month) posted below ... and IF you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me directly:  [email protected]

Thanks for your support ... I cherish our relationship!

The Perfect Wedding

Catri married her long-time boyfriend, Paul, on November 9th at the Camarillo Ranch near Ventura. I was honored to be asked to "do" her hair ... and created a updated "Marilyn Monroe" look for the occasion.  She looked amazing!

I arrived the night before to update her striking "Hollywood" blonde ... and started final styling at 10am the next morning, for the 3:30pm ceremony ... which started exactly on time.

The wedding was absolutely perfect ... a wonderful celebration of Catri & Paul's marriage.  It was fun and easy going ... one of the most enjoyable weddings I have ever attended.

I was only responsible for Catri's hairstyle, as her mother's stylist was engaged to style mom and bridesmaids.  So ... I was free to be an unscheduled wedding photographer, and shoot what inspired me.  To see the results and the image video I created for Catri & Paul ... click HERE
The Latest From the Salon
Recent Images

Janette . . . demonstrates that longer hair can look fantastic! At her recent visit, I created chunky highlights in an "Ombre" sort of manner ... but better, as they appear from underneath the style to give a very modern feel with no maintenance required.  The cut is "long graduation" to show off her wonderful hair.

Debbie . . . during our recent visit to our daughter and her family in Virginia, I gave all the lovely ladies cuts, with her younger ones getting highlights also. Debbie has always enjoyed coloring her hair ... this time she thought making a definite statement was in order. With all the non-natural colors being shown these days, her's is actually more middle of the road. Her cut is an a-line bob.

Tatum . . . has been moving to a longer style in recent months, so I gave her a trim ... but ... added "peak-out" chunky color ... similar to Janette. The advantage of this type color is that no maintenance is required as it slowly grows out while still making an impact.

Maddie . . . clearly likes having her hair short! With her amazingly thick hair and petite sized body, she certainly doesn't need much hair.  This time she decided to see just how short we could go ... so a full "pixie" was the objective. I also added her first taste of highlights ... in the bang area only.

Roslynn . . . is a new client who wanted a real change ... the a-line bob is great for her finer hair, and also gives a good sense of style.
