"Fashion is what you're offered four times a year by designers. And style is what you choose."
-  Lauren Hutton

Today we gained an hour ... the signature indicator that fall is finally here.  What did you do with the extra time?

I was inspired to put the finishing touches on my November eBulletin.  Adding interesting newsworthy components to cap off each issue, is always the biggest challenge for me.  But I want more included in each issue than merely the latest hair styles from the salon.

For this November issue, my article on the "25 Most Famous Fashion Quotes of All Time" was already completed.  Lauren Hutton, well known for her outspoken manner, would be the cover girl for my lead in story.

"Lauren is anything but a classical beauty. Her nose flies west, her mouth flies north, she can cross her left eye at will. She made herself beautiful by learning, watching, willing -- not by surgically altering her defects." - Harper's Bazaar (1973 profile on Hutton)

But I was looking for more.  Well this week Pamela Anderson startled everyone with her new look ... which made her almost unrecognizable!

So there you have it ... Lauren Hutton and Pamela Anderson ... enjoy!

Amazing Change

Who's that girl? She was nearly unrecognizable when stepping out in L.A. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, with a super-short new haircut. Gone were the Baywatch alum's trademark long blonde tresses -- and in their place was a very chic, very Charlize Theron-esque pixie cut.

The 46-year-old bombshell paired her stylish new 'do with an equally stylish ensemble: a demure black-and-white striped dress, ivory cardigan, and black ballet flats.

This will definitely be worth following.  Is this a momentary mid-life crisis ... or is she really moving forward by reinventing herself?  I hope the later.
Talk about looking younger ... wow!!

are amazed at how the years have passed.

Time for Change and Donation

Always known for her adventurous attitude, it was not entirely surprising when Katherine announced it was time to "cut it all off" ... and to make a worth while donation to "Locks of Love".

She is blessed with amazing hair, so some young patient will be very happy!

Not being one for subtleties, she went all the way to a pixie!

Here she is pictured with the hair she is donating, and with her mom, Elizabeth, who is a very long-time client ... and who herself, modeled for me in the mid-1980s.  Her pictures were on the walls of my salon in Mission Viejo.

Elizabeth and I look back at those images, and are amazed not only at how the styles have changed ... but also at how the years have swept by.

Nikon D2x My Cameras
Mostly Nikon . . .

My photographic hobby started when I was in elementary school, and received my first camera as a Christmas gift.  Years later, this translated very well into my hairdressing career, when I began taking pictures of my clients when I was in beauty school.

Digital technology has made this so much easier and more affordable. Especially considering that most images will only appear on the internet, and are never printed.

I take thousands of images each year.  Check out all of the cameras I've owned since the very first ... I still have every one, and they are proudly displayed in my home.

The Latest
New Fall Looks . . .

Lynn ... demonstrates that long hair does not have to be boring! A Yoga instructor, she loves that her styles have personality. Her new look is the perfect balance of trendy and traditional.

Ameri ... we met when she was 12 years old as a hair model ... and I hired her at 13 to be a receptionist in our Mission Viejo salon. She is now a freelance head-hunter, and is married with a young son.

Joan ... A sales representative in the beauty industry, she is a newer client. She really enjoys allowing me to surprise her (a bit) with the styles I create for her.

Nelly ... the biggest challenge she has with her style, is trying to convince her mom to allow her to go further!  She loves having styles which set her apart!

Tatum & Sarah  ... my two older grand-daughters with their latest looks. Sarah decided it was time for change, and had me cut almost 12 inches of length.

Judy ... illustrates that seniors can definitely have style ... and her hair color is all natural.  Well, we do embellish it a touch, but not much!

Midori ... one of our charming dance coaches with her latest look.
