March 2015

"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them"
-- Albert Einstein
It is really amazing how fast 2015 is progressing ... we are most finished with the 1st quarter.  Albert Einstein said, "... for us physicists believe the separation between past, present, and future is only an illusion, although a convincing one." I have always been astonished by his perspective on life and our world.

My new schedule is working well, and most clients have found that it is easy to book around.  I am attempting to be as available as always. If you ever have a special need, please let me know.

Other topics in this issue are my new assistant, Emma ... also, the 50th Anniversary of the film "Sound of Music" and the latest client images, including a new website cover page.

Happy Spring,

Bill
My New Assistant
Emma

Unfortunately, Danielle will be moving on.  She definitely loved working with me, and especially enjoyed interacting with my dear clients. It seemed that her future opportunities at Gods & Heros would be quite limited, as she and the salon owner have a personality clash. She certainly could have continued working with me, but it makes more sense to be in a salon where her future career can be more supported.  Thank YOU, Danielle, for being such a great assistant!

Emma is a very bright, intelligent young lady, who will immediately make my clients feel comfortable. I look forward to having each of you meet and spend time getting to know her.  You will be impressed!
The Sound of Music
50th Anniversary

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the film The Sound of Music. Here's a look back at the cast, and what they are up to currently. (click image at right)

The Sound of Music (1959) is a multiple Tony Award-winning musical by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and a book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. It is based on the memoir of Maria von Trapp, The Story of the Trapp Family Singers. Many songs from the musical have become standards, such as "Edelweiss", "My Favorite Things", "Climb Ev'ry Mountain", "Do-Re-Mi", and the title song "The Sound of Music".

The original Broadway production, starring Mary Martin and Theodore Bikel, opened on November 16, 1959. This production was a five time winner at the 14th Tony Awards, out of nine nominations. The original London production opened at The Palace Theatre on May 18, 1961 starring Jean Bayless and Roger Dann. The show has enjoyed numerous productions and revivals since then, with a 1998 Broadway production earning a Tony nomination for Best Revival. It was adapted as a 1965 film musical starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, which won five Academy Awards.

The Sound of Music

was the final musical written by Rodgers and Hammerstein; Oscar Hammerstein died of cancer nine months after the Broadway premiere.
The Latest From the Salon
Recent Images

Katherine . . . I have had the pleasure of creating hairstyles for her since she was 12 years old (2008). Now 20, she is venturing out to discover more about herself and what she enjoys ... and that is being classically bold with her style. She looks amazing!

Cindy . . . was referred to my by Katherine's mom, Elizabeth ... and she has now visited me for her second appointment.  She is a stunning classic with beautiful natural colored hair.  Few can pull this look off.  But when you combine a really cute figure with a modern cut and great over-all style ... you can't go wrong.  She is definitely a traffic stopper!

Tricia . . . twice in the past she has appeared on my website cover pages.  Photogenic definitely describes her, and we have a lot of fun trying new ideas with her style.

Carrie . . . came all the way from Dallas to visit her mom, and wanted a fresh look while in town. Several years ago she had me cut off her very long hair ... perhaps you remember her pictures? She has never looked back.

New Website Cover Page
Inspired by Katherine's Latest Cut

As you might expect, it is quite a difficult to get a bad picture of Katherine!  She is a true classic beauty ... much like Audrey Hepburn.  This particular image seemed perfect for a fresh new cover page.

I had not created a new design in over a year.  I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
Mobile Website
Designed for Your Handheld Device

My new "mobile" website is now functioning properly.  Several clients reported an issue with their attempts to access my website on the cell phone/pda ... I asked my website hosting company's "techies" to look into it, and they made some corrections.  I have all the most frequently used features prominently displayed for fast access ... especially my new schedule.

Again ... your device should automatically go to this new version my website ... there are no extra steps required from you.  Enjoy!
