February News
Vino in the Valley is just a month away!
Passports for our 2016 Vino in the Valley Program are selling fast and supplies are getting low!  We only print 1,800 passports each year and fewer than half are left for sale. And when they're gone... they're gone! They sold out in 2015 and they are bound to do the same for 2016.

They are $35 each and can be purchased in-person at all of our wineries (cash only), as well as online via EventBrite (credit card only).  NOTE: Online sales end 2/26/16.

This year's passport holder gift is a fun wine trail event t-shirt and logoed wine glass.

A Word from the Wine Trail
by Elaine Pivinski of Franklin Hill Vineyards
Until recently this season had been quite mild allowing our vineyard staff to get into the fields early. They began pruning without any risk of harming the buds which is a risk in extreme temperatures.

However the recent snow storm has changed things quite quickly. Over 20 inches of snow has fallen, blanketing our vines and acting as an insulator from the freezing cold.

Inside the slightly warmer winery, our reds have developed a beautiful, deep, red color due to last year's wonderful harvest. Little adjustments are needed to the wine this year because of the beautiful fruit that was brought in, leaving our winemakers time to experiment and develop new concepts. It's an exciting time with a lot of new projects in our tanks.

As 2016 continues all of our trail's member wineries look forward to new releases and events this spring. Our 2015 vintages are quickly becoming some of our best wines to-date, and we welcome you to stop by all of our nine wineries to taste them.

Three Questions with...
Gregg Amore of Amore Vineyards
For February we spoke with Gregg Amore of Amore Vineyards in Nazareth and asked him the following three questions:

1. How did this past weekend's blizzard affect the vineyards?

2. What are some of your favorite wines to enjoy in the winter and why do you enjoy them in cold weather?

3. What new wines can we expect from Amore in the first half of 2016?
