ICE Challenges Students to Become Change Makers during Global Entrepreneurship Week
Through the 2nd Annual Do Something Challenge, students were encouraged to consider how they can use entrepreneurship to make the world a better place.
Lindsey Carpenter, the first place winner of this year's Do Something Challenge, received a stipend to fund her idea, Thrive to Strive, a weekend-long career planning workshop for high school students. Read more

Lani Lazzari, the CEO of Simple Sugars and 2013 Shark Tank winner, was the keynote speaker at the Do Something Challenge main event. Lazzari encouraged student entrepreneurs to follow their dreams: "Dream it and then live it," she explained. "Every day."

The Do Something Challenge was part of our celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week, a global
initiative launched in 2008 by the
Kauffman
Foundation to inspire young people to embrace innovation, imagination, and creativity in becoming the next generation of entrepreneurs.

ICE Faculty Equip Students to Become Critical Thinkers and Value Creators

ICE Partners with WFU to Inspire Entrepreneurial Leadership
Saras Sarasvathy, Don Boudreaux, and Michael Strong, panelists for a lecture entitled "Millennials and the Culture of Entrepreneurship," each offered their thoughts on the tools necessary for millennials to succeed as entrepreneurs in today's 21st century world. Read more about the event

Habitat for Humanity CEO
Jonathan Reckford visited Wake Forest as part of the Leadership Project, an initiative designed to celebrate the ways that leadership development is taught and inspired at Wake Forest. Reckford, an advocate of social entrepreneurship, encouraged students to "follow their calling." Read more

Finding a Niche -- Student Entrepreneurs Develop Loopey Laces, LLC
Tommy Worcester ('17) and
Tim Collis ('17) have recently launched Loopey Laces, a custom shoelace business that specializes in shoelaces for Greek organizations. "We don't know exactly what the future might bring
and that's what makes this opportunity so exciting!" explained Worcester. Learn more

First Annual TEDx Director
Lucy Lan ('12)
Chemistry and French majors, ESE minor
During her time at Wake Forest, Lan was the Executive Director of the first annual TEDxWakeForestU in 2012. Today, Lan is a third year medical student at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Lan's legacy lives on through TEDxWakeForestU, which is now in its fifth year. Save the date for this year's event -- February 20, 2016.
