Christmas Eve Missional Parking

To be an inviting congregation this Christmas Eve, we need to continue being missional about how we park at Hennepin. Please prioritize the church parking lot for our guests, people with mobility issues, and families with infants and young children. We ask all able-bodied members/longtime guests to please park in the Architectural Alliance lot, use street parking, or use the underground Walker ramp (paid vouchers available at Reception).

A Small Group Study Connecting Faith and Culture
Sundays, January 10, 17, 24, and 31 at 5:30 PM
led by Kathryn Johnson and Nancy Graves-Cronin

Pastor and author Matt Rawle is on a mission. He sees Christ all around him-in books, movies, TV shows, rock music-and he wants to share what he sees. As Matt says, "God offers the raw ingredients, and 'culture' is whatever we cook up."

In The Faith of a Mockingbird, based on Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird, pastor and author Matt Rawle uses Lee's beloved characters to explore Christian faith, theology, and ethics.

Give to Dignity Center

Sandra is a 32 year old lady who was forced to live on the streets when she did not feel safe in the shelters. She was in the foster care system during her juvenile years and suffered abuse, so she ran away. Her 2 children are now in the foster care system due to the unsafe conditions in which they were living. Sandra has been working to rebuild her life and has just secured housing - a first step towards her ultimate goal of reuniting with her children as a family in their own home.

This Christmas time, please give the Dignity Center a gift card or $25 for Sandra and other Participants like her. Your gift will indeed help to "make the season bright" for them and their families. Please contact john.cole@haumc.org

  New Curch Directory - 2016

There will be a new picture directory next Fall. Directories help members and families connect to each other and to be informed of ministry programs.

Photos will be taken the summer of 2016. The directory will be timed to allow photos to be ordered for gifts for family and friends for next Christmas and to allow photos to be taken of students before returning to school.

There will be a need for volunteers this Spring and Summer for scheduling and record keeping. The lead committee is Bobbie Keller, John Roberts and Jerry Ballard. If you are interested in helping on this project, contact Marlys Grantwit, 952.831.0378 or marlysgrantwit@msn.com.

Contributions
All contributions for 2015 must be received by December 31.  If you would like to make a stock transfer or begin electronic giving and you need assistance, please call Philip Graczyk at 612-435-1331. Thank you for your generous support of Hennepin Church.

IRA Charitable Rollover is Back - Permanently

IRA owners over 70 ½ again may make direct transfers from their IRAs to qualified charities. Congress and the President late last week enacted tax legislation making the IRA rollover permanent. IRA charitable rollovers - direct transfer of up to $100,000 per year - are tax-free and not included in adjusted gross income. An IRA rollover may fulfill part or all of your required minimum distribution (RMD). The rollover provision is retroactive for all of 2015; any direct transfers made during this year qualify. There is still time for a 2015 transfer - you need to act soon. For more details, contact your IRA administrator; Jack Fistler 612-4345-1321 or jack.fistler@hennepinchurch.org; or, Philip Graczyk 612-435-1331 or philip@haumc.org
