Some of the highlights:
We covered 132 events this year, so just under 3 a week. Some of our favorites were the CicLAvia, Life Rolls on at Hotel Erwin, Abbot Kinney Festival, Venice Sign Holiday lighting, Venice Vintage Motorcycle Rally, Venice Mardi Gras Parade, Taste of Venice, YAS-a-Thon, Venice Dog-O-Ween, Cruise and Brews and the LAX Chamber fest.
Our co-founder, Edizen, won a slew awards, including the Abbot Kinney Spirit Award, a California State Assembly Certificate of Recognition, a City of Los Angeles Certificate of Recognition, Senator Ted Lieu's photo contest and was honored at the Venice Art Crawl 5 year anniversary dinner as the VAC event co-founder.
We are looking forward to an even better 2016 and hope to see you on New Year's day at the annual penguin swim on Jan. 1st, 2016.

A wonderful winter time was had by all 1000+ revelers at the 6th annual Abbot Kinney holiday stroll and snow day on Sun. Dec. 13, 2015.
Next to the snow hill with sled runs was Santa Claus listening attentively to the wishes of children. As well, there was a drawing for a huge shopping spree, a raffle with over $3000 in prizes, an Instagram scavenger hunt, carolers, elves, face painting, holiday crafts and the choir from Hamilton High School.
This event is 100% paid for by the Abbot Kinney Merchant Committee as a thank you to the local community.

| A FESTIVE TIME HAD BY ALL AT THE 4TH ANNUAL VENICE SIGH HOLIDAY LIGHTING BLOCK PARTY! |
On Friday Dec. 4 2015, the Venetians came out to celebrate the holiday season at the 4th annual Venice Sign holiday lighting block party on Windward Ave. The event was hosted by the Venice Chamber of Commerce and included live music, a children's poster contest, an awards presentation and the unveiling of the Venice sign with red and green bulbs. It was a joyous occasion with great turn out of spirited revelers enthused by the holiday season.

From a yoga/spinning hybrid to a sandy beach work out, we have the inside line on where to train in Venice.

Venice's ocean front recreation is known the world over! From the iconic Muscle Beach Gym to the basketball courts, no trip to Venice is complete without a day in the park. The Rec & Parks office offers handball, basketball, boxing bag rentals free with valid I.D. Paddle tennis racquet rental $5 with valid I.D. Instructors also available. Courts are first come first served. Here is a full list of Venice Recreation and Parks' facilities:
- Muscle Beach Gym: Outdoor gym with free weights, machines, power rack, powerlifting bumpers & more. Bodybuilder Hall of Fame also found here. $10 day pass. 7 DAY PASS: $50. Year pass: $200.
- Basketball courts: 3 regulation & 1 stadium size court.
- Boxing area: 6 speedbag platforms, 2 heavy bag areas.
- Gymnastic Area: Also know as the "sand pit" includes two rings set, high & low parallel bars, balance bar, horizontal bar, and 2 climbing ropes.
- Venice Skatepark: 27,000 sq. foot park. Two bowls, snake run, rails, stairs.
- Roller Skate Plaza: Live D.J. and dancing every weekend.
- Handball courts: 4 three wall courts and 3 one wall courts.
- Paddle Tennis courts: 11 courts.

2. Do some yoga and spinning at YAS Fitness Center! Founded in Venice in 2001 by Kimberly Fowler, YAS was the first studio anywhere dedicated to the combination of spinning and yoga, sparking the yoga hybrid movement that has since swept the nation.
5. Go to the beach!
Surf, swim, body board and splash around in the Pacific Ocean. Go for a deep sand run or power walk in ankle deep water. Keep an eye out for dolphins.
6. Commit to a daily walk in the Venice Canals!
Many of the streets in Venice were once canals. What is left is just a fraction of once abundant waterways, which were laid out by city founder Abbot Kinney to be a miniature version of Venice, Italy.
