Last week, I mentioned the looming Winter Solstice, which is actually today! As Christians, our family celebrates and remembers the birth of Our Hope at the same time of year our hemisphere experiences its darkest days. I'm aware that The Christ may not actually been born this time of year, but the poetry of this season is inescapable. Hope & Light! HOPE. Just the word brings tears to my eyes. Light...it sweeps away the darkness, it doesn't have a chance! Think of the rising sun. Anything hidden at night is fully revealed. With out the first, our soul shrivels. With out the second? Life as we know it is over. Bring on the Light!
