MAKE A TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATION TO YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD NON-PROFIT
All the projects, e-newsletters, web-sites, information packets, etc.  are funded from donations and time of the Jefferson Park residents.  Jefferson Park residents have made historic status street signs possible out of their own time and donations. Each individual donation goes directly to projects - note, everyone is a volunteer, so no administrative salaries involved! Razoo will send you a receipt for your records and send your donation directly to us.  Click below the Razoo icon or go to https://www.razoo.com/us/story/Friends-Of-Jefferson-Park. and keep the neighborhood moving forward!

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL WINS AWARD
The International School of Tucson, our neighborhood school, just won a prestigious award.
Every year, a Confucius Classroom of the year award is given by the Hanban to a school and is based on, but not limited to, the quality of teaching and learning, curriculum, cultural richness and community outreach and involvement as well as extracurricular activities.  Hanban (Chinese National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language)  Confucius Institute is a non-profit public educational organization affiliated with the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, whose aim is to promote Chinese language and culture, support local Chinese teaching internationally, and facilitate cultural exchanges.
This year IST was nominated in the top five of Asia Society's Confucius Classroom network, and that placed them in the top 1% among 400 Confucius Classrooms in the US.
Now they have officially been selected as the Confucius Classroom of the Year!!
Congratulations!
Consider making your AZ Tax Credit to the International School.   Click here for the form to mail your tax donation. You will receive a receipt for your tax records.
SAFETY TIPS FOR THE HOLIDAYS
FROM TPD COMMUNITY RESOURCE OFFICER BECKY NOEL:  The holidays are a time for extra attention to your personal safety. Here are a few tips to make sure your holiday is a joyous one!

At Home:
* After the holidays, cut up your boxes and put them in the recycle bind rather than leaving them in piles by the trash. Those box piles are telling local burglars what you got for the holidays and what they could have if they burglarize your house!
* Keep Christmas trees out of view from the main window. This is an advertisement to burglars!
* If you receive a plaque with your family name on it, don' post it on the garage door for everyone to see. This is telling burglars what your name is so they can get your number from the phone book and check to see if you're home!
When Shopping:
* Park in well lit areas.
* Don't store packages in open view in your car. Put them in the trunk, or cover them with a blanket.
* If you return to your car and there are people hanging around your car, don't confront them! Go back to the store and request assistance.
* When you walk to your car, be observant of your surroundings and keep your car key in your hand.
* Check under and in your car before getting in.
Making Charitable Contributions:
* Do not donate to telemarketers - you don't know who it's going to!
* Do not tell any phone solicitor your credit card, social security, or bank account numbers.
* Make sure you know the EXACT name of the charity. Disreputable charities use names that sound alike.
* Use http://www.charitynavigator.org/ to check on the reputation of the charity.
* Verify a charity with the Arizona Secretary of State's Office. Charities should be registered with this office if they are soliciting the public.
* Check out suspicious charities with the State Attorney General's Office.
