 It's almost October, and fall is officially upon us!
As we mentioned last month, it's time to elect our 2016-2018 executive board - please look for the Chapter Voting Ballot coming out to all members later this week! We look forward to building a great leadership team!
Also, October is our member recruitment month. We're kicking off a Member-to-Member Campaign to run throughout the month. Invite some colleagues to our membership event in October at the Level Up Barcadium in Raleigh (details are below). If your guests join WTS, you could be in the running for some great prizes.

This year, new
WTS members who fill out a membership form and pay the membership fee at a NC Triangle chapter event, such as a luncheon, breakfast or Transportation YOU event, will receive 15 percent off of their membership cost, as well as a WTS fleece. Over the next two weeks, WTS NC Triangle Chapter members will vote for the new executive board members, who will serve for 2016-2018. All four positions on the board are up for election: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Members will soon receive an electronic survey and instructions on how to vote. The WTS Member-to-Member Campaign kicks off in October. From Oct. 1 to Oct. 31, current WTS members have the opportunity to win prizes when they recruit new WTS members. Level Up Networking Event
|
|
Join the NC Triangle Chapter at a social event for networking, food and games. On Oct. 15, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., the chapter will host this event at the Level Up Kitchen and Barcadium in downtown Raleigh for anyone interested in learning more about WTS and how to join. It's free for all, including food, drinks and games. Those who join WTS at the event will receive 15 percent off their membership fee. Click on the button below to register.

The NC Triangle Chapter will offer monthly webinars featuring female leaders providing tips on how to succeed. It's a free series for WTS members, and you can listen in at your desk The next Motivational Monday series will be at noon Sept. 28 with presenter Ali Brown, Founder and CEO of Ali International, who will talk about "The Courage to Lead." September Breakfast on Networking

The September breakfast featured speaker Marcy Stahl, who discussed "Networking with Intention." More than 25 people attended to learn tips on maximizing results when networking.

The MAX Orange Line light rail corridor in Oregon recently opened. A Portland newspaper ran a story on the three engineers, all women, who headed the $1.49 billion project. They discuss the challenges of the project, how they were solved, and what it's like being a female engineer now. Click below to read the story.

For members looking for networking opportunities within the Chapter, consider joining the Professional Connections program.
