A garden requires patient labor and attention.
Plants do not grow merely to satisfy ambitions or to fulfill good intentions.   They thrive because someone expended effort on them.
                                               --  Liberty Hyde Bailey

Children, like plants, require someone to expend effort for them to thrive.

Our ACAM teaching artists expend their efforts helping youth to thrive in of one of the poorest and densest populated areas of Los Angeles, an area where ten gangs are active.

The median age of ACAM students is 8 years old. By engaging in our positive activities at an early age, youth will be better able to avoid the lure of negative influences.

What our students say:

"I could not have an after school activity if ACAM wasn't here."

"The best thing I like is the friendliness."

"Teachers take time and passion to help students."

I am so proud of the commitment our teachers have to making a difference in the lives of the ACAM children!
