TriBoard Mission: Putting Books Into Children's Hands
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
During the April TriBoard Meeting, the lay leaders of our church established a mission to collect used children's books for distribution directly into the hands of children who live in Wayne, Paterson and Appalachia. For more information, see Pastor Karyn's letter to the congregation in the May Bell newsletter.
Click here for flyer.
To participate:
Box up gently-used children's books that you have on hand (boxes will help us when it comes time to sort and deliver them).
Leave the books on the stage in Simmons Hall or bring to the church office.
Contact PastorKaryn@mac.com if you know of any organizations that could use children's books.
Spread the word to your friends and neighbors.
Books will be collected through May 31. No books after that date please.
Financial donations are appreciated to help cover the cost of transportation.
Comfort and Joy Mission: Showing How Much We Care
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

During the most recent TriBoard Meeting, the lay leaders of our church established a mission to help us stay connected with people who are either going through difficult times or want to share their personal celebrations with us. This new form of outreach will be coordinated by Carey Lochridge.

Carey is currently looking for volunteers who would be interested in writing notes to members of our congregation who need to know that they are not forgotten. To contact Carey, call
Home 973-628-7497 or Cell 973-557-7835.

The following is a message from Carey:

Dear Believers in Christ,

Packanack Community Church is starting a new mission, a mission to bring comfort and joy to your fellow believers. This mission's goal is to share our love, caring and compassion with each other.

So how do we do this?

We bring meals to someone who has just had surgery, or a death in the family, or just had a new baby.

We visit those who are too sick to come to church.

We drive people to Doctors appointments.

We send a card to let them know we are thinking of them.

We show our fellow members that not only does Jesus love them, but we love them as well.

If you feel this mission is calling you please contact Carey Lochridge and if you know of anyone who could use some Comfort & Joy please contact Carey Lochridge. Home 973-628-7497 Cell 973-557- 7835

May you all have Comfort and Joy in your lives!

Rotation Model Sunday School: The Parting of the Red Sea and Pentecost
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rotation #4 continues the theme of God's Covenant Promises with the stories of...
The Exodus: The Parting of the Red Sea
Exodus 12:31-42, 13:17- 14:31
Pentecost; The Sending of the Holy Spirit
John 14:15 - 26,  Acts 2:1-12, 32-33
Each Sunday starting April 12 - June 7
Parent Participation: Help to bring the story home by re-reading it with your child. A good children's Bible with colorful pictures is a great way to enjoy some story time together! After reading the story try asking some open-ended questions to get the conversation going, like...
"Why do you think that is?" or "How does that make you feel?"
Please Use Our New Prayer Cards
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Board of Deacons have started a new mission for our beloved church. It is in the form Prayer Cards which have been placed in the Narthex. The purpose is to forward these Prayer Cards by those requesting prayers for someone they wish to remember during our worship on Sunday mornings. The card will simply state the name of the prayer recipient, date of worship service and the name of the requester. Envelopes will be provided so that the card may be placed inside for your convenience for mailing. The beautiful picture on the front is highly recognizable as that of a portion of the stained glass window behind our altar. We encourage everyone to participate so that we may let those we pray for know they are important to us as individuals and by a caring congregation.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Each month, a group of volunteers is needed to assist the office staff with collating the Bell newsletter, stuffing the envelopes, and getting it in the mail. It's a great opportunity to do a little work for the church, make some new friends, and have some fun at the same time.
The next Bell Helpout Date is scheduled for WEDNESDAY, MAY 27, at 10:00am in Room 10.
If you can join us, please contact Kerry at Office@Packanack.com to let her know you are coming. Thank you for your assistance.
Plan Ahead for the Bell Deadline
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please note that, due to administrative changes in the church office and delivery delays at the post office, the monthly Bell newsletter has a firm deadline for any announcements that the congregation may wish to place in it. Announcements and flyers received after that date will not be included until the following month. If you would like to let the congregation know about an upcoming event, please plan ahead and make sure that you submit the announcement on time.

The deadline for the August Bell is Tuesday, June 2.
