Gov. Jay Inslee has invited the Concert Choir to sing the National Anthem at the State of the State address TODAY Tuesday, January 12th in Olympia!  It will begin at 11:45 am and closes at 12:59 and will be streamed live on the TVW website -  www.tvw.org  or the TVW channel depending on your cable provider.


DRAMA

We are offering local businesses a chance to support our Performing Arts department by purchasing an advertisement or sponsorship in the annual Musical Program. This year's production is  CHILDREN OF EDEN and programs will be distributed at all performances. For additional  information on purchasing an advertisement


"Buy" A Theatre Seat Campaign is BACK!  "Buy" a seat in the Performing Arts Center for $50 and we will place a plaque  with  your name on the arm. U se this opportunity to remember a loved one,  print a favorite verse or name of a performer or simply mark your thoughtfulness.   These funds will contribute significantly to the Ballard High School Theatre.  Choose your seat TODAY!    Click here  to download an order form.

The Opening Night Gala will be on Thursday, March 3rd. The BHS Foundation will be hosting a Gala Event & Dinner before that nights performance.  More details to follow!

CHOIR
Gov. Ticket Information for Carnegie Hall -  Audience seating for Friends and Family will be in the Parquet, First Tier and Second Tier in Stern Auditorium.  Tickets for the March 18th 2016 concert in Carnegie Hall are $90.00 each + a $6.00 per ticket service fee. Individual and small group ticket sales go through the Carnegie Hall Box Office either online here or in person or via credit card/phone at Carnegie Charge (212-247-7800, Mon-Sun, 8 AM-8 PM EST).   If attendees would like to order as part of a Group to save on the cost of the ticket and processing fees, please contact parent Karolyn Vickers by  Friday, January 15th at  [email protected]   She has volunteered to coordinate the purchase of the $87 tickets. Tickets go on sale to the public 60 days prior to the date of the concert. 


BAND & JAZZ
What a wonderful weekend at the Jazz Band Retreat at Camp Burton! Congratulations to all of the students for their hard work and growth throughout the weekend. Just wait until you hear them next!

The UW Jazz Festival  is on Saturday, January 30, 2016.  Jazz Band 1 will be participating and specific times still TBD but please plan on attending the entire day.

Reminder!   Wind Ensemble Families We still need chaperones for the Vancouver Trip on April 8th - 10th. Chaperone cost will be $250 to $300. Please contact Ingrid Riley if interested as soon as possible. We also need a final count of students attending this trip. Please email Ingrid if your student will not be attending. The 1st  payment of $200 is now past due, please remit ASAP. The  2nd payment of  $200 is due Feb 4th. 

Past Due Fees & Trip Payments! Students were given a letter last week with any outstanding money due. Please ask if they received a letter. Please remit payments ASAP. Especially if students have not bought their ASB card & have not paid for Camps.

The Elliott Bay Region Concert Band Festival  will be held during the school day on March 9th at Roosevelt High School .  Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble and most percussionists will be attending.  This is an adjudicated performance and we will need approximately 12 chaperones please email [email protected]   if you can help.

Chamber Orchestra Side-by-Side Concert with Philharmonia Northwest
performing  Dvořák: Nocturne in B Major, op. 40 on Sunday, January 24th, 2:30 pm at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Tickets and more information are available   here.

Update!
NW Region Strings Concert - Tuesday, February 2nd will now be held at Whitman Middle School (instead of BHS)   Parents - we need 3-4 volunteers to help hand out programs and welcome our elementary and middle school string players between 
5:15 pm - 5:45 pm. We are also looking for a volunteer to take photos for the event. Please email Ms. Newell at  [email protected] if you can help out.  
 
Thursday, February 25th EBMEA Orchestra Festival Orchestra parents - we still need 3 parent chaperones to join us for this all day Orchestra festival. It is a wonderful event. Please email Ms Newell at  [email protected]  if you can help.


BPA FUNDRAISING

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Goodwill Truck Fundraiser!   Ballard Performing Arts filled the truck and then some and received a $1,100.00 donation!
