Developing and managing the future of apartment living
October 2015
Dear FJG Family,
Around this time in 2013, we developed the foundation of our company; The Core Values! Each day since, it has been great to see our team members strive to live those core values in their work life as well as their personal life.
Thank you to all who represented the FJG team at the 8th Annual JT Walk & Beach Party. Your presence, together with your active contributions were greatly appreciated and have gone towards making this event a great success. I would personally like to congratulate the teams at River House and The Woodlands at Phoebus for reaching their donation goals. I would also like to thank the team at Preston Trails for having the highest walker participation.
I wish everyone a safe Halloween weekend!

Sincerely,

Taylor Franklin
Happy Halloween
At this special time of year when jack-o'- lanterns glow, it gives a welcome chance to send a warm "Hello!" The Franklin Johnston Group hopes you have a frightfully spooky Halloween weekend.
It's the night kids love, but they can't trick or treat unless they're 12 or younger. And while start times could vary, it all ends at 8pm for every city in Hampton Roads. Spooky Events in Hampton Roads
JT Walk & Beach Party
Thousands of supporters showed up to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront on a very cold and windy Sunday morning for the 8th Annual JT Walk & Beach Party. This year was a huge success in raising money for ALS Research and JT's Camp Grom, an adventure camp and park for people with disabilities. The Virginia Gentlemen Foundation organizes the fundraiser each year. JT Walk, named for Josh Thompson, raises money for ALS Research and patient services as well as several local projects. Among them: building JT's Grommet Island, a handicap-accessible beach park and playground on 2nd Street; donating the "Grombulance," a mobile intensive care unit, to CHKD; and constructing JT's Camp Grom on Prosperity Road, which will offer adventure activities for children with disabilities, wounded veterans and families of the fallen. Camp Grom is scheduled to open next summer! "I am humbled by all my friends and family doing the work that it takes to put the walk together," Josh Thompson said earlier this month. "The financial support that goes to fight this horrible disease and the success make me feel good. Even the people that don't know me personally that hear about my story, I feel their support and love." The Vision For Jt's Camp Grom

TFJG is a very proud supporter of the JT Walk
Team Building
The team members in Northern Virginia got together at the Top Golf in Ashburn. The team building experience was filled with food, fun, and a little friendly competition. The Community Managers and Service Managers competed against each other on their driving range ability. Big smiles and laughter throughout their experience, the General Manager of Top Golf approached the team and told them that he has never seen a group of people interact so well. He was so impressed he asked the team to stay and enjoy an additional hour of fun on him simply because his staff and guests were enjoying watching the team interact. Matt McBroom said, "It was truly a night to remember."
The Roaring 20's Fashion Show
Fashion in the nineteen twenties was all about comfort. The men's pants got wider and the women stopped wearing their corsets and tight dresses. Times were, and still are, changing. The residents at Chester Village Apartments recently put on a Roaring 20's Fashion Show.
Fall Festival
The team members at The Woodlands at Phoebus had a wonderful time at the Fall Festival. The event featured live music, food vendors, a doggie costume parade, pie eating contest, children's activities, dance demonstrations, a selfie photo station and more. Visitors were able to stop by The Woodlands booth to pick up a special bag with treats and information about the community. The team at The Woodlands would like to give a special thank you to Forrest Pines Senior Manager, Samantha Wallace and Senior Community Manager, Connie Hill for helping them out for this special occasion.

Breakfast On The Go
When witches go riding, and black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers, 'tis near Halloween. The residents at Independence Square in Portsmouth, VA had a early treat when the team members surprised them with breakfast on-the-go! It is not only the most important meal of the day but it is a great opportunity to let your residents know how much you appreciate them. Way to go Independence team for making their day.
