We Proudly Present our 2015-2016 Annual Report

As our DREAM continues to grow, connect with new communities and educate more youth, it is very important to stop once a year and reflect on our accomplishments. Please have a look at our new 2015-2016 Annual Report (PDF) and take a moment to appreciate the impact of the support you have given our organization. We now educate more than 6,000 youth in 16 communities through the highest quality and most innovative education programs. Come celebrate these achievements on November 12th, 2015 in NYC at Sueños 2015. Where would we be without you?
Meet our "I Choose My Future" Scholarship Winners!

Congratulations to our 2015-2016 scholarship winners: Alanna Castillo, Carlos Manuel Polanco, Carolina Lugo, Edwin Misael, Luis Alejandro, Maria Guadalupe, Vinicio Minaya, Diana Yoskaira, Julissa Faustino and Jean Martel. Thanks to our generous partner, the Thomas Rosato Foundation, DREAM is able to offer university scholarships to dedicated, hard working students like these!
Friends of the DREAM Project Fundraiser Rocks Toronto!

It isn't everyday that a rock star walks in the door, meets our kids and changes everything. Last year, Greg Godovitz of Goddo did just that. Inspired by our kids and their skill and passion for music, Greg took on a huge challenge. His vision, alongside agent Bill Moore and a team of amazing Canadian DREAMers, was to gather an immense collection of rock memorabilia, a new community of supporters and some incredible musicians for one night of dreaming. The result? A new community of supporters in Toronto who joined the DREAM family and raised more than US$25,000 for our DREAM Music Program.
DREAM joins Latin American Congress for Literacy and Writing

Love of reading and active, effective reading instruction is DREAM's passion.  We are proud sponsors and presenters at the XIII Congreso Latinoamericano para el Desarrollo de la Lectura y la Escritura in Santo Domingo. This Latin American-wide conference allowed us to improve our craft and train the teachers of tomorrow. Ten Young Stars teachers joined our Executive Director and Academic Director at the conference, greatly benefiting from this professional development opportunity.
Empowering Girls to Make Good Decisions One Game at a Time

The DPV program continuously adapts to meet the needs of local communities. Our latest example is the launch of Única (Unique), a new curriculum using sports and games to teach about female empowerment, self-esteem, sexual health, and positive relationships. Twenty-two young female leaders came from five provinces (Puerto Plata, Mao Valverde, Santiago, Espaillat, and Duarte) to learn new strategies and become certified in the latest methodology. We can't wait to share updates on the programs they'll be facilitating in the coming months!
Chichi La Brega Goes National

DREAM was proud to hop on the media tour of young urban music star and DREAM Project graduate Chichi La Brega. We love to see our students' DREAMs come true and Chi Chi is well on his way!
DREAMer of the Month:
Julissa Tejeda

Julissa Tejeda has spent the past three years building successful DREAM programs, including Young Stars, Parent Education, the Escuelita de Padres for toddlers and their parents, the university scholarship program, and an art therapy intervention. She was also a Master Coach for the DPV program and coordinated an A Ganar course in Puerto Plata. Anyone who knows July says that she is dynamic, intelligent, and skilled at building relationships with others. July left our headquarters in Cabarete this month to join the RC22-DREAM family as the Coordinator of the new educational center in San Pedro de Macoris! We are confident that this new site will benefit greatly from her leadership.
