Supervisor Don Knabe to Give Farewell Address at Lunch with Our Leader |
|
LA County Supervisor Don Knabe (4th District) |
On February 10th, long-time County of Los Angeles Fourth District Supervisor Don Knabe will give his farewell address to the Torrance business community during the Torrance Chamber's annual Lunch with Our Leader event. Throughout his tenure on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors (LACBOS), which began in the late 1990's, Supervisor Knabe has worked to champion the issue of child sex trafficking, lead critical transportation efforts, support countless youth art programs and other charities, advocate for environmental issues, invest in libraries throughout the County, address important business issues in his district, and protect the innocent and vulnerable children in Los Angeles County through the establishment of the Safe Surrender program. The Torrance Chamber will truly miss Supervisor Knabe once his LACBOS term expires later this year.
Join TACC at Lunch with Our Leader to bid farewell to Supervisor Knabe. Register today!

Southern California Economic Summit
|
TACC listened to an enlightening presentation last week at the Sixth Annual Southern California Economic Summit hosted by the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG). The presentation was given by economists from across Southern California counties who highlighted current economic conditions in Southern California and drove home the point that although the number of jobs that were lost during the great recession has been recovered, the kinds of jobs recovered are not the same quality of the ones that were lost. The economists stressed the importance of increasing education attainment for Southern California workers to combat low-wages. The event also featured remarks from California Governor Pete Wilson (Ret.) and an opening address from Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.

Once in a Lifetime Opportunity for Football Fans
|
How would you like two seats to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Banquet during the Superbowl 50 festivities in San Francisco this year? You will enjoy a VIP cocktail reception and be seated with a Hall of Famer or NFL Legend, enjoy lunch, and hear stories from over 50 Hall of Fame "Gold Jackets."
The lunch is Friday, February 5 at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience ... you can't buy these tickets anywhere!
All proceeds go to the Western Association of Chamber Executives Foundation, which provides scholarships and other educational resources for chamber of commerce professionals across the Western United States.
The auction closes January 19. You do not need to be a WACE member, just someone who would love to attend this event.
Thanks in advance ... and good luck!
