Administrator testimony from the field: Carol Hall, administrator of The Broach School in Bradenton invited parents to the Anthropological Dig on Thursday October 16 from 6 -7 PM. She was a bit nervous, never having done a parent meeting like this! Her nerves turned to excitement quickly watching  parents enthusiastically participate in the walk-about, giving feedback and suggestions for two-way communication. They were still on campus at 8 PM, and Carol practically had to turn the lights out to get parents to leave! Carol attributes the success of the parent event to the Success Partners Module 3 agenda, norms, activities and suggested script.

COMMUNICATION IDEAS FOR SCHOOLS
We would love to spotlight what you are doing to encourage two-way communication - please share with your Success Partners Coordinator at their next visit!
GOOD NEWS GRAM
Dr. Ann Davis and staff at Incarnation Catholic School in Sarasota had 1000 Good News Grams printed! The good news about a student is shared by mail with the family. The front office is collecting data on how many cards are sent out each month, and Dr. Davis is compiling  'Good News Prompts' to help teachers find the right words of encouragement!
PARKING LOT FOR COMMUNICATION
Claudette Harding and Brenda Trim at Beryl Wisdom Adventist School re-created the summer institute Parking Lot. They placed the board in their school lobby to enable all members of their community to post Ah-ha's!, Suggestions, etc.
HOW ARE WE DOING?
Laura Young, Lead Administrator at Highland University Preparatory  School in Sebring has placed How are we doing? cards in the front office area. When parents and other visitors are on the campus, they are asked to fill out a card and drop in the comment box. Data is collected that will help the staff improve their communication.
