Welcome to the first issue of Kentucky Health eNews, KMA's new electronic newsletter. KMA members will receive Kentucky Health eNews twice each month. KMA's new patient newsletter, FOCUS on Health, provides resources to help people quit smoking and highlights " Commit to Quit," a new smoking cessation campaign spearheaded by KMA and the Kentucky Foundation for Medical Care. KMA Launches Leadership Program
for Students at UK, UofL

KMA recently launched a new Medical Student Outreach and Leadership (MSOL) Program to get students involved in their communities and help them recognize the need to understand the political, social and economic issues in the health care system.

Selects New Dean 

Dr. Robert DiPaola has been selected as dean of the University of Kentucky's College of Medicine. The university says Dr. DiPaola is expected to assume the job in early spring, pending approval from UK trustees. click here

Grants to Nonprofit Groups

The board of the Kentucky Foundation for Medical Care awarded grants to nonprofit groups associated with Benjamin Kutnicki, MD, of Carrollton and Gordon R. Tobin, MD, of Louisville. The grants are awarded to groups associated with KMA Community Connectors.
