CAMPAIGN NEWS

A Note From
Alan Fletcher
Throughout the 2015 AMFS season we have been treated to masterful performances from returning Aspen favorites, international  d ébut  artists, and our own students and artist-faculty members.

With our goals met to start construction on Phase II of the Bucksbaum Campus renovation in August, we turn our attention now to the  Where Dreams Begin Campaign's endowment goals. We ask for support from patrons and community members to keep our organization at the forefront of our field, to offer more competitive financial aid to potential students, and to honor our dedicated artist-faculty.

I want to acknowledge our organization's dedicated staff members, who work hard all year to make these eight weeks happen. We recently achieved 100% Campaign participation from our year-round staff- a strong sign of dedication and commitment from a group that believes in the future of the AMFS.

On a personal note, I want to thank AMFS Board Chair Bob Hurst and a score of generous friends and supporters for establishing an endowed scholarship in honor of my 10th season in Aspen. I am truly humbled by this honor. Thanks to all who participated.

None of this would be possible without the vibrant donor community that supports our annual needs and is building a brighter future with the Where Dreams Begin  Campaign.

With sincere thanks,
Alan Fletcher

Looking Ahead to Phase II
With one final week of learning, teaching, and performing for the 2015 season, we are reminded that there is just one more week remaining of the Matthew and Carolyn Bucksbaum Campus in its current state! The day after the season finishes, AMFS staff move off campus and bulldozers and construction crews move in to begin the final phase of the capital construction.

During the winter season Shaw Construction will build a new rehearsal hall and a building with teaching studios and a large assembly space.  The historic Hardy Administration Building will be renovated to its 19th century style.

Now is the time to support the capital Campaign! Naming opportunities exist for both capital and endowment goals, and we are still seeking $2 million to finalize the capital portion of the campaign. All gifts are celebrated as we get closer to our goals and reach our dreams for the Aspen Music Festival and School.

People Give To People
As we transition to raising funds for our endowment, supporting the people and programs at the AMFS is a top priority. Since the start of this campaign, we have established 34 new named scholarships. Our goal is to secure over $20 million in funding specifically for student scholarships. Being able to offer student financial aid allows us to attract and retain the best young musicians.  Check out our latest video of donors s haring their  motivation to give and of students remarking on their time here at the AMFS thanks to generous support.
Announcing the John Rojak
Bass Trombone Scholarship
John Rojak, AMFS bass trombone artist-faculty celebrates his 25th year at the AMFS!
To honor John Rojak's 25th anniversary as a member of our artist-faculty, some friends created the John Rojak Bass Trombone Scholarship.  We would love for you to join us in honoring John and supporting the AMFS initiative to increase student financial aid. Gifts of any amount, the payments for which may be made over five years, are greatly appreciated. Click here to make your gift and celebrate John's commitment to his students.
Sustain The Quality Of The Festival

The Where Dreams Begin Campaign includes a $40 million endowment goal to preserve the life-changing learning opportunities for our students year after year. The student experience is unparalleled and we hope you'll join us in supporting students with a gift to the endowment. Giving opportunities include:

  • Named full scholarships (tuition, room, and board) - $150,000
  • Named tuition scholarships (merit-based financial aid) - $75,000
