Early College Planning

Monday May 4th at 6:30pm

Higher education is critically important, especially in today's complex world. During this presentation, NHHEAF (NH Higher Education Assistance Foundation) will provide parents of younger students (K-8) with the tools to encourage and support their children's educational aspirations. They will address questions parents may have about paying for college and will provide the facts about financial aid and saving for college. Attendees will receive an Early College Planning Guide.
NH Author:  Betsy Woodman

Join us on Wednesday May 6th as we welcome NH author Betsy Woodman. Betsy spent ten formative years in India and studied in France and Zambia. A graduate of Smith College, she earned a Master's degree in Anthropology from Brandeis University. She has edited history books and been a frequent book reviewer, and was a writer/editor for Experiencing War, the award-winning radio documentary series for the Library of Congress Veterans History Project. Her interest in languages, music, and cross-cultural connections are in evidence in the Jana Bibi series. She now lives in her native New Hampshire.

New Policy for Reserved Museum Passes

Since implementation of our new online museum pass reservation system, there's been a significant increase in bookings! (Yay!) Unfortunately, this has also led to an increase in failures to pick up reserved passes. (Boo!) This is bothersome because we could have loaned those passes to another member of our Library community. Therefore, beginning May 1 any person who fails to pick up a museum pass on 2 different occasions, without notifying the Library to cancel, will be blocked from borrowing any museum passes for 2 months.

Catalog Corner

Back in October's newsletter we talked about how patrons had a hard time telling whether they had actually successfully renewed an item by logging into their account from home. Our recent software upgrade has made that a worry of the past! Now when you renew an item, you'll see a green box that says "Renewed!".

Another new feature is the ability to keep your borrowing history. Login to your account in our catalog and go to the tab that says "My Privacy". "Never" should be selected, but if you want to save your history change it to "Forever". We can't do it for you, unfortunately, but we're happy to help you set it up.
