The 2016 University Professors Masonry Workshop will provide professors with resources and background needed to effectively teach masonry design and construction classes at the university level. With the support of industry sponsors, The Masonry Society (TMS) will present the 2016 University Professors Masonry Workshop (UPMW) at the University of California, San Diego, March 20-22, 2016. Dr. P. Benson Shing, Professor and Chair of Structural Engineering at UCSD, will serve as the workshop host. Leading masonry experts and professors will present topics on the Use of Masonry Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow; Masonry Materials; Masonry Performance; Sustainability of Masonry; Structural Design of Masonry with an Overview of Code Updates; Constructability issues; and many more topics. Separate breakout sessions will be offered for architecture and engineering faculty related to teaching masonry at the university level.
