Message from
Blaine Geissel
Director of Student Activities

Dear Garces Parents,
Ram for a Day and Homecoming Week!

The class of 2020 is on its way!  Last week Ms. Harper welcomed our "Future Rams" to campus and we are looking forward to having all of them on campus next year.  It is a great group of students that will continue to grow the Garces Legacy.  It was a little hard to convince the 8th graders that Garces students really do play foursquare and tether ball at break and lunch.  After about two minutes they were all playing, too. The Future Rams will fit in nicely.  And yes we really did have an inflatable obstacle course for the students to go crazy last week as well.  Your students love to be kids at heart and play like kids should play.  I believe that if they are working hard and accomplishing everything we ask of them, they should be rewarded. Thank you for sending your child to Garces for their education and allowing us to have fun with them along the way.

Next week brings homecoming, Garces Mania, with a host of activities from dress up days to a rally, the homecoming skits during halftime and the big dance on Saturday.  Look for details of all the fun events ASB has planned for this week in this email.  The Homecoming Court is ready to go and will look like royalty come Friday night. There will be a new halftime show with props and dancing on the field, the band will play; it will be an exciting game and show. Come out and support all of our Rams!

Another new tradition we are starting is the "Foodapollooza" here at Garces.  Once a month the cafeteria will be closed and we will bring in outside vendors like Panda Express, Jamba Juice, pizza, hot dogs, Moo Creamery Ice Cream, and many others.  The students love it and it is a great way for clubs to earn money. The next "Foodapollooza" is scheduled for October 29th. Never a dull moment and that is the way we like it. Thank you for being a part of the Ram family.

Since the start of the year your students have added 7 new clubs that are raising money and completing service projects on campus and around the community.  The Agriculture Club recently planted new flowers around the front of the library.  Other groups are raising awareness and money to help local charities and at the drop of a hat during lunch, the students raised over $400 for Honor Flight. Garces kids are awesome! Look for details to come about Habitat for Hummanity and your student's involvement in a local build. We are always looking for ways to have more fun so if you have an idea let us know!  Events that ASB and several clubs are looking to add will be movie nights, game nights and more to utilize this beautiful campus as much as possible.

God Bless,
Blaine Geissel
