Actions and achievements.
Each year WriteAway publishes its Actions & Achievements report, which outlines accomplishments of the previous year and speaks to the value that WriteAway brings to the BC post-secondary sector. This year's focus is on outcomes, answering the question: "What difference does WriteAway make to the sector?" Some highlights from the 2014 report include:
- One thousand students received writing assistance from tutors throughout 2014. Students find the service very helpful (rating WriteAway 3.57 for helpfulness out of a top score of 4) and describe in positive terms how WriteAway tutors have helped improve their writing.
- Four new institutions joined the service in 2014: BC Institute of Technology, Emily Carr University of Art + Design, Justice Institute of BC, and Selkirk College. They join early adopter sites Camosun College, College of the Rockies, Douglas College, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Simon Fraser University, and University of BC.
- A Master Tutor was hired to provide support for tutors and institutional coordinators; the Master tutor contributes to professional development of tutors and helps to ensure consistency and quality of tutor responses.
