Message from Edie Jane

"I'm so looking forward to being back again to teach this workshop.

At a recent workshop I taught we were met on Sunday morning with cheerful comments: "I slept through the night with no pain"; "I bounced out of bed this morning"; "I've discovered my knee really can bend"...

Comments such as these show that the participants had clearly paid attention to my urging them to take it easy. They practiced the principle that lightness develops skill, whereas effort develops muscle. Power and efficiency come from skeletal organization, which is directed by the brain. This is the contribution of the Feldenkrais Method. TTouch puts the icing on the cake.

Come join us and find out for yourself!"

TTouch For You® - so many applications!
Awareness Through Movement® - educating our nervous systems.
A bodywrap example - great for riders!
Some fun stuff - hairslides, great for reducing back tension.

In the 'Taking it Easy' workshop you will learn techniques to support your own well-being and that of others. Participants are usually a mix of those with their own concerns, and/or are caregivers who want to add to their skills. Prior experience with Feldenkrais or TTouch is not required.

Most of us have a tendency to move or carry ourselves in ways that are not as comfortable as they could be - and may even cause us pain. Do you ever sit or lie down and shortly afterwards change to a position that's more comfortable? It's pretty common. The odd thing is that we don't learn to choose the consistently more comfortable position to begin with! One part of this workshop addresses that: learning how to Take it Easy.

In this workshop you will learn how to identify which of your postures and movements are easy for/on you, and which cause distress. It's a process that involves listening to those whispers within ourselves that say "ow!" or "aaahhh". When we know how to interpret what we feel and observe, we are able to make choices about what we do. Sometimes all it takes is a  small change to make an enormous difference!

You will also learn techniques to share with others: Some simple yet powerful and profound Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) lessons to address stiffness, discomfort or dysfunction. With the intent and focus of TTouch For You® we'll explore TTouch and bodywraps, and learn how to address some specific health care needs.

Both Feldenkrais and TTouch offer such a generous range of applications that we can easily vary the content to reflect the participants' experience and interest. If you want more information about what to expect please contact me at [email protected].

Join us at a workshop, and gain a new appreciation of how you can improve your world "one TTouch at a time"... and in addition, and to quote Moshe Feldenkrais, discover how to "make the impossible, possible; the possible, easy; and the easy, elegant."
