It says in Matthew 18:20 NKJV, "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."  Be a part of this open prayer line and join us in prayer as we seek to be all that God would have us to be.   You will truly be blessed!

Meditation Moment

Grace

Scriptural reference: Ephesians 2:8-10 NIV

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

No matter the blessings or the power that may be present in our lives, it is never because of who we are but because of who God is. God continuously blesses us with what we do not deserve.   In spite of our faults, He loves us unconditionally. Just like the potter with a piece of clay, God keeps working on us until we are aligned with His plan and His intention for our lives.  While we may not know what He is shaping us to be, it is comforting to know that by His grace and mercy, God has not thrown us away but has kept us in His loving hands.

Words From Our Pastor
My Loved Ones,

I want to thank all of you who participated in our 5K Race for Education last Saturday and those who came out to support the participants.  It served as a prelude to what this event can become.  I am grateful to those of you who organized, provided leadership and worked on the event.  It was such a statement for The Village of Grace.  Job well done.

On this Saturday, September 19, the leadership of the church will be gathering at 8:30am for our Leadership Prayer Breakfast.  All of the officers of the church, ministers and ministry leaders are expected to attend this breakfast.  Please RSVP with Rev. Mizell to confirm your attendance or the person who will be representing your ministry at the breakfast.  I am looking forward to us coming together on one accord, one mind, one heart in prayer and supplication seeking the Lord's guidance for the coming program year.

This Sunday, September 20, is our Church School Convocation Sunday!  It is our acknowledgement of the commitment and sacrifice of the men and women who serve as teachers and administrators in our Church School.  During the 11:30 service we will consecrate our faculty, praying the Lord will use their spiritual and intellectual gifts to the edification of our congregation and the glorification of God.  Christian Education is a noble vocation; a calling that is paramount to the building of the body of Christ.  As you perform your responsibilities as teachers, may you be informed and inspired James' exhortation to the first century church.  Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers and sisters, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.

L ove,
Pastor

Have a blessed weekend!

Sincerely,
Grace Baptist Church
