Nicky Forster ...
will be looking for a change of fortune and a return to smiling faces when Wingate & Finchley come to Wheatsheaf Park on Saturday - KO 3pm. 3 home defeats in a row, with no goals scored, and 8 let in is not what the club would have welcomed on the run up to Christmas. With all the games in hand following the cup run now evaporating as we speak it is time to return to the flowing football we know. 3 points would bring back that smile and confidence.
Saturday's visitors currently sit in 6th place on 39 points and arrive on the back of a defeat at a revived VCD Athletic. Prior to that Billericay Town took the points with a 1-0 victory. So both teams go into the fixture following defeats and Swans fans will be fully behind the squad urging Fozzy's boys to victory.
Come along and get behind the boys as we look to return to winning ways ... KO 3pm at Wheatsheaf Park.
Nicky Forster promised some "tough decisions" at
Staines Town after his men fell to a third home defeat in a week.
The 4-0 reverse against Grays Athletic
was a shock for all concerned at Wheatsheaf Park, including the visiting fans given they had not seen their team win in the previous six Ryman Premier Division outings.
"The reality of the game was that both teams were too open," reflected Forster.
"I think they had six chances and scored four goals. We had five chances and scored none."
Forster added: "We had three one-on-ones, we had a penalty, we had a free header from four yards and we had another opportunity.
"But we are incapable of dealing with the pressure of the situation at the moment.
"We had enough chances to score three goals in the first half and came in 2-0 down.
"The penalty [miss, two minutes before half time at 2-0] was a big moment and to be honest I thought it was a second penalty [when Jeremy Boakye was fouled immediately afterwards by keeper Lamar Johnson, the foul not given], but having said that because of the pressure, because of the poor decision-making at the moment I wouldn't have been that confident of scoring the second penalty [if it had been given]."
