THE WEEK IN REFLECTION:
Remember Us Memoir Project With Pepperdine University

This semester, students at Pepperdine University participated in our Remember Us Memoir Project. Each student spent the semester reading and reflecting on a survivor narrative from the LAMOTH memoir collection. As the culmination of the project, last weekend the students gathered in the Museum's library to share their stewardship letters with classmates, Museum staff, and the survivor authors who wrote these inspiring texts. The survivors present at the event were very moved by the students' understanding of their experiences and commitment to carry them forward.
THE WEEK IN REFLECTION:
Righteous Conversations Project Workshop at Tarbut V'Torah

As part of a multi-year partnership, LAMOTH's Righteous Conversations Project conducted a one-week workshop at Tarbut V'Torah Community Day School in Irvine. Righteous Conversations staff and filmmaker mentors worked with thirty-five 11th graders who have been studying the Holocaust as part of a semester-long unit on World War II. After touring the Museum and hearing from Survivor Eva Wartnik, the students spent last week reflecting on what they had learned, brainstorming, and creating two Public Service Announcements on themes arising out of Eva's talk that resonated with the students.
THE WEEK IN REFLECTION:
Milken 8th Graders Photograph LAMOTH Artifacts

Education Department staff designed and led a workshop for the 8th grade photography class at Milken Community Schools about the importance of artifacts in understanding history and the role played by each person's frames of reference. Working in pairs, students photographed primary sources from LAMOTH's collection and shared with each other what they tried to capture and how they would like to use their photographs to teach others about the history of the Holocaust.
