This Saturday!
Annual Membership Meeting
November 7, 2015, 1:00pm
This Saturday, the Alliance Francaise de Fresno will hold its annual membership meeting to introduce the newly elected board of Directors, go over our accomplishments, and our plans for enhanced benefits for our growing membership. Please note that only members in good standing can attend the meeting. We look forward to seeing many of you at the AFF headquarters at 4747 N First Street, Fresno, CA 93726.

Vendanges Dinner was a great success!
Sixty five members and their guests enjoyed a wonderful meal and Burgundy wine pairing at Classic Catering to celebrate the harvest. Our special guests of honor were Patrick and Margo Bourrel, who were presented with a plaque in appreciation of their many contributions in hosting past events at la Boulangerie. Also honored were all of our Past Presidents for their tireless efforts and essential contributions over our 32 years of success. The silent auction was enjoyed by all, featuring some great event prizes, such as a Petanque Party for twelve, crepe making classes, and dinner prepared by Alliance President Fredo Martin and his wife Renee.

Membership Renewal
September was the best month of the year to renew your membership. Why? Because, this year, we added a new twist: a lucky new or renewing member was drawn for a bottle of Veuve Clicquot. The catch? You must have renewed by October 30, 2015!

With a new year comes a change in our Board of Directors. We are happy to welcome Ellie Garabedian, Stephenie Frederick, and Nidia Innis-Gonzalez.
We would also like to thank our outgoing Directors for their tremendous support during their time on the board. Natalie Munoz served as Secretary and Membership Chair. Randy Viger was in charge of mail correspondence. Outgoing Vice-President Norman Stokle has been instrumental in many facets of the organization, including the Language Committee, teaching classes, Tombola, our lecture series, and entertainment for events.
We appreciate their time of service to the Alliance and we hope to continue to see these members at our upcoming events!

AFF Movie Night
AFFresno showed the French classic
"Jean de Florette"
in October. The evening included a thoughtful pre and post analysis of the film by Dr. Norman Stokle. Next up? The second of the two parts of Claud Berri's classic duo-
"Manon of the Spring,"
which will be shown at 7:00 on November 21st. Although this is the second half of the film duo, it is a great stand-alone movie even if you have not seen "Jean de Florette." The Alliance will continue to make "French Film Night" a regular tradition to occur at least once each month. Upcoming movie titles will be listed in the newsletter, and if there is a special title you would like to see or have on DVD to share, contact us on our website at
