PRIORITY REGISTRATION
All  CASP students receive priority registration after your first quarter as a CASP student. Regardless of whether you have cycled out of your scholarship tenure (2 or 4 years); you will receive program benefits and any non-scholarship funding benefit throughout your time at UCSD; which includes priority registration.

The second annual Geisel After Dark Student Success & Safety Information Fair will be held on November 4, 2015. 
 
At the event, we invite student support units and library programs to share their information with student library users. Our goal is to encourage use of Library and campus resources. UC San Diego was founded in November of 1960.  Celebrate the ways in which our scholarship, community, and commitment have created a force for positive change in our region, our nation, and our world.

Program: 
Price Center East Ballroom from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Six faculty experts will share brief presentations related to two of the campus's grand research themes:
  1. Understanding cultures and addressing disparities in society 
  2. Exploring the basis of human knowledge, learning, and creativity. 
Before the symposium, visit the Cross-Cultural Center for an undergraduate showcase. Meet students who are focusing on innovation and service.

If you are in an OASIS workshop this quarter, please note that attendance is  mandatory .  

The OASIS Language and Writing Program (LWP) includes free individual tutoring sessions and workshops for:
  • All registered undergraduate students for whom English is not their first language
  • All students enrolled in SDCC 1 and SDCC 4, regardless of their first language

FAOreminderIMPORTANT FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION FOR WINTER QUARTER
Winter Quarter remainder funds for direct deposit will be available beginning Monday, January 4, 2016
 
If you did not sign up for direct deposit, remainder checks will be mailed beginning Monday, January 4.

Visit the Financial Aid Office website for more information.

To make sure your financial aid is available in time to pay your fees:
  • Regularly check your Financial Aid Checklist to view and/or complete requested items or actions.
  • Frequently review your UCSD e-mail account for messages from the Financial Aid Office.
  • If you have loans, make sure you complete all the required paperwork and the TritonLink loan counseling session. Questions about Perkins Loan or University Loan required paperwork can be directed to Student Business Services at studentbusiness@ucsd.edu.
  • See additional disbursement requirements and make sure you've complied with them.
  • Your account will be credited once you're enrolled in Winter classes. (Wait-listed classes do NOT count as enrolled units.)
  • Review your Winter Quarter billing statement beginning December 2 to make sure your financial aid has been applied to your student account. Please note that Direct Loan funds will not credit your account until December 27 due to Federal regulations. However, pending Direct Loan payments will be calculated into your current online balance on TritonLink.
    Billing Statement Tip: Access the "Current Account Activity" view on your TritonLink bill for up-to-date account activity.
  • Sign up for direct deposit by Friday, December 4 for your Winter Quarter funds to credit your bank account at the beginning of Winter Quarter, starting January 4.

 filmSAN DIEGO ASIAN FILM FESTIVAL
The biggest showcase of Asian cinema on the west coast is once again on the UCSD campus. For the the fourth straight year, the festival is showcasing the diversity and achievements of Taiwanese cinema with the Taiwan Film Showcase. Highlights of the festival's UCSD events include a panel on Asian Americans in digital media featuring BuzzFeed's Eugene Lee Yang, a documentary by UCSD alumnus Alvin Tsang, and mega Taiwanese box office hit The Wonderful Weddingwith director Huang Chao-liang scheduled to attend.
