NAMI Peer-to-Peer mentors are invited to join Sarah O'Brien, NAMI Peer-to-Peer Program Manager, for a one-hour technical assistance call to help you get the most out of your mentoring experience. This month we will focus on how to manage challenging group dynamics using the Hot Potato method and also discuss data reporting. There will be time for additional topics on the call, so come ready with questions and challenges you would like help with.  This call will provide opportunities for NAMI Peer-to-Peer mentors to network, hone their teaching skills, and share solutions to common challenges that arise in their classes.

NAMI support group trainings are for NAMI members to become facilitators of a support group. The education trainings are for members desiring to become teachers or mentors of an education program. Upon graduation, the affiliate makes arrangements with the graduate to teach the class.

Qualifications for training: Interested parties should be NAMI members in good standing and ideally have graduated from the same education program they intend to teach. A participant also needs to be recommended by their local NAMI chapter. Additional qualifications will apply. Please ask your NAMI affiliate to contact Family and Peer Programs Supervisor, Lynn Cathy at [email protected]   or Erik Villalobos, Family and Peer Program Coordinator at  [email protected] to receive an application via email.
