Acton-Boxborough United Way, Acton-Boxborough Regional PTSO, and Danny's Place Youth Services are pleased to announce that Michael Thompson, Ph.D.,

Michael Thompson, Ph.D.
supervising psychologist at the Belmont Hill School and best-selling author of Raising Cain, will speak on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 7 pm.
 
Dr.Thompson's presentation will address issues raised in his latest book, The Pressured Child. He will discuss how America's preoccupation with performance-driven accomplishments emotionally impacts our children. He discusses how we can understand these stresses and respond with empathy and understanding.
 
This free presentation is geared to the parents of 7th through 12th grade students. A limited number of The Pressured Child will be offered for sale on the night of the program.

There is still time to complete the ABUW's Community Needs Assessment Survey. This survey is a part of a larger study which will provide an analysis of human service needs in Acton and Boxborough. All residents over the age of 18 are encouraged to participate. By completing this brief, anonymous and confidential survey, your voice will be heard and counted.  

 

It will take less than 10 minutes to complete. Every question must be answered, even if your answer is that you have 'no opinion' or 'don't know'.

Crucial funding for essential services is provided by the Acton-Boxborough United Way to over twenty human service organizations serving the residents of  

Acton and Boxborough.  

 

Our grant deliberation process has now begun which involves a formal grant application, in-depth interviews, and
careful evaluation.
