Hosanna E-Update
Patience... is a virtue...
and a Fruit of the Spirit

By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. ~from Galatians 5

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

A mom said to me this week, "What a great KIDTALK this week! All the kids in my row were VERY quiet as they were counting the licks on their tootsie pop sticks!"

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop?       Check out his video for answers >>>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6rHeD5x2tI
The world may never know! But according to our kids it ranges from 106 to 800+ to 1608  and anywhere in between I am sure!! It was a fun experiment in patience,to be sure.

How is your journey of patience going this Advent? Patience is one of those attributes that you cannot learn by reading about it. It's a quality that can only be acquired by persistent and practice. For me it is a drill that I go over, and over, and over again!

The original Webster's dictionary offers this definition of patience: "endurance without murmuring or fretfulness, from a kind of heroic pride, or from a Christian submission to the divine will."
Reading this definition two things really struck me -
  • First, "endurance without murmuring".  I, for instance, get so frustrated sitting in a traffic jam counting the wasted minutes (and yes, murmuring!) when I could have been doing something useful! Yet, what an opportunity for me to choose to use the delay to work on my patience!
  • The second thing that really hit me was, "a Christian submission to the divine will." How many times are we placed in a difficult position, or forced to deal with an "impossible" situation? Or perhaps, an "impossible" person? These circumstances are always opportunities to grow in patience by practicing listening for God's will in all things.
Is your patience being tested today? Seize it as an opportunity!!

With JOY and HOPE and PEACE and LOVE... and PATIENCE! See you in church!!
     Pastor Linda

Countdown to Hosanna's
FMSC MobilePack on
April 1 & 2, 2016 = 114 Days!!

God has blessed Hosanna richly. You can   help reflect that love by supporting this
mission to enrich the lives of so many   children by providing needed nutrition in order for them to thrive. We need to raise $30,000   to cover cost of the food and another $5,000  for building maintenance following the MobilePack. Hundreds of volunteers will be needed on April 1 & 2 to help pack the food.

Ways YOU Can Help
  1. Take home a Change-4-Change glass jar and continue to fill it with loose change and/or currency and bring it to worship on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights  at connect360.
  2. Write a check to "Hosanna" (write "FMSC" on memo line).
  3. Tell your family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, etc. about this MobilePack and ask them to sign up for one or more of the time slots or even organize a team to sign up.  We will soon publish a link for volunteers to sign up online for a time that best works for them.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

to all who purchased Christmas Cookies at the

Bake Sale on Sunday.  We raised  $624 !!!
