You are invited to join us for the

2015 MACTE Symposium

December 4-6th, 2015

Crowne Plaza Hotel, Alexandria, VA

The Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) will hold its 4th Annual Symposium for Montessori Teacher Educators on December 4-6, 2015 in Alexandria, VA. This event draws Montessori teacher educators from around the world and is an opportunity for program directors, faculty and national organizations to discuss topics relevant to Montessori teacher education.  This year's Symposium will focus on the question:

Are We Preparing Our Teachers to Teach  Children with Special Needs?

Fourth Annual Symposium for Montessori Teacher Educators
With the Purpose of ASSURING EXCELLENCE in MONTESSORI TEACHER EDUCATION
Friday, December 4 - Sunday, December 6, 2014
Crowne Plaza Old Town Alexandria
Alexandria, VA

We have again incorporated your valuable feedback from last year's Symposium and made revisions to the format incorporating your suggestions.  We will again attempt to give participants an opportunity to interact with each other, sharing ideas and experiences from their work.  The sessions will be whole group followed by an Open Space Format on Sunday morning.

The annual Symposium is set up as an intimate gathering of Montessori Teacher Educators who convene to learn from, and grow with each other.  It is a chance for you to discuss ideas, issues, and topics around Montessori teacher education with colleagues.

This year's event will be centered around a variety of topics including learning disabilities and state testing for Montessori teacher licensure. Please bring your own topics that have been in the forefront of your mind this year.  They will be the center for discussion on Sunday morning, where Michael Randel from Randel Consulting Associates will be facilitating once again an Open Space Format of topics that you have chosen. On Friday evening after the award presentation, Michael Randel will be explaining what is needed to prepare for our work on Sunday morning.

There are a few topics on our schedule that will already be in place.  If you have other topics for engagement it will be important that you add them to the list that will be available Friday evening.

As always, the Symposium is set up for you as a professional development gathering. Your participation is that of an active contributor in the discussions. It is the only one of its kind that brings together Montessori teacher educators from all affiliations and associations.  The hope is that we will celebrate our differences, rejoice in our similarities and leave knowing we have learned from each other.  We look forward to your participation.
