What, December, already?
Hard to believe it's December already!

You will find lots of important information in this newsletter about current goings on.

There is so much going on here at school during this short but fun-filled month, and today was no exception! Looking forward to seeing many of our school friends at tonight's Movie Night (6:30-9pm; $5 per kiddo).

We began the day with a Read-In in the Glacier, Everglades & Zion Rooms. Thanks to ALL who joined us.

As our Read-In guests filed out, our children moved into our center space for an all-school assembly. There they learned about the hard work and accomplishments of our three First Lego League Teams who demonstrated their projects.

Congrats again to all of our FLL students, and especially our all-girls team, the Lego Ladies, for their second place trophy in the Core Values portion of the competition.

From the Front Office
Winter Recess Attire
As long as the temperature outside has a real-feel of 20° or higher, we will hold outdoor recess. Students MUST wear a winter coat, hat, and gloves or mittens in order to go outside for recess. Additionally, boots and snow pants will be required in order to play in the potentially snowy or muddy areas outside.

Lost & Found
Please encourage your child to check our Lost & Found in the front office if they have misplaced any items they have brought to school.
Sharing is Caring...
Share the Warmth
Our School is collecting clean, gently worn coats (any size) from now until December 23rd! If you have some extra coats in your closet, please consider donating them to our collection!

Please add donations to the large box in the front lobby marked 'Coat Drive'.  These coats will be donated to Families in Transition (FIT) of Manchester. Thank you!

In School Donations
Here at school, we are also looking for extra boots, snow pants, and clothing to keep on hand at school for our kiddos. We have many great items to fit our littles, but we would love a better size range to accommodate our upper elementary kids, too - sizes 10 and up!

We wanted to be sure to thank those of you who have sent in the paper and cleaning supplies our teachers have asked for. Your generosity is fantastic and so appreciated!

Child Care for 12/9/15 - Early Release
Child Care for our December Early Release
Our next early release day is Wednesday, December 9th.  We currently have 5 spots open for extended day child care, from 11:15-5:45pm.  If you need to reserve a spot, please contact Ms. Susanne at [email protected].
My Wonder...
Our students get various opportunities to share important events or experiences in their lives. Earlier this week, the Zion Room had a 'My Wonder' share. Based on the book, The Wonders of Me, Mr. Mike invited his students to share their own stories with their classmates. Among the wonders shared was a very special drum. Aravind's dad brought this instrument home from a business trip and he recently began taking lessons. He told his friends that this is one of his favorite things to do when he is at home and acknowledged that he is just at the start of his journey of learning how to play it.

Winter 'Give & Get' Fundraisers

From the Fitness Teacher
Winter Fitness Clothing
Although winter is on its way, we still have some warm weather days sprinkled in and we would like to hold Fitness class outside for as long as possible.

We ask that you prepare your children to go outside for fitness on Mondays with pants (please no leggings as they are not made of very thick material), hats, and gloves.
We Have a Winner!
Thanks to all those who are participating in our Family & Friends Monthly Giving Program.

As part of the Program, the names of Monthly Giving participants are drawn for a small gift raffle each month. The winner of this month's raffle prize is long-time monthly donor, Peter Marr! The prize this month is a $25 Gift Certificate to T-Bones/Cactus Jacks!

Please click here for more information about our  Monthly Giving Program.

Year End Giving
If you are considering year-end gift giving and contributions to your favorite non-profits, please consider making a donation to the MFCS Foundation! The Foundation is hard at work securing our school's long-term sustainability. Donations large and small are deeply appreciated and help to keep our educational programming strong! Keep in mind, many employers will match your donations. Have any questions? Please contact the Foundation at [email protected]

National Parks on TV
Over the course of the next year on Sunday nights, the National Geographic Channel will show a series about America's National Parks.  This past Sunday, November 29th, featured the Olympic National Park - reruns are likely.  Tune in this Sunday, December 6th, for Yosemite!
