Flu Shot Season
Dear Parents,

We are quickly approaching the flu season.  I would encourage everyone over the age of 6 months to get the flu vaccine soon.  Don't wait until it's too late to fight the flu.  It takes two weeks to build up immunity after getting the vaccine.  Let's try to keep everyone healthy this winter.

If your child is a Preschool student this year, they are REQUIRED to get the flu vaccine by January 4, 2016 and submit proof of vaccination to the nurse.

The Trumbull Health Department will be offering Flu shots by appointment only on Mondays, from 3-5 p.m., and Tuesdays, from 9:30-11:1130 a.m. For information, call 203-452-1030.  Or see your own physician to receive the vaccine.

If you have questions, please call the State of Connecticut Immunization Program at 860-509-7929 or contact me at 203-268-2146.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Folchick, RN

Eighth Grade Explores the Gifts of the Holy Spirit
The 8th grade currently completed presenting their projects on the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Each group focused on one Gift of the Holy Spirit. The students focused on how each gift applies to our everyday lives, how we can exercise each gift in our lives, and the importance of asking God for the grace to grow in each of the gifts. Overall, the students did a fantastic job and truly enjoyed exploring each of the gifts in detail.

A Glimpse into Grade 5

Grade 5 learned that picking out a "Just Right Book" is like picking out a new shirt.
A "Just Right Book" has just enough room for you to grow.

Parents were surprised to see that their "children" were still at school when they arrived for Back-To-School Night!
St. Theresa's Fab-Five - Band Students Go to Region Festival!
S t. Theresa School is proud to have sent 5 students to the Future Musicians Southern Region Music Festival that was held at St. Stephen School in Hamden.  After 4 weekends of rehearsing, the band performed a concert at St. Stephen on October 18.  The concert was a rousing success.  The 5 students played saxophone, trombones, percussion and clarinet.  These students represented St. Theresa with distinction.

They will now begin preparing for the FMI All-State auditions which will determine which All-State Band they participate in.  The All-State Festival will take place in March and the students will perform a concert at CCSU in mid-March.  Then they will perform again at New York City's Lincoln Center on May 23 and later that week at Hartford's Old State House.  Congratulations to all these fantastic students!

You can catch them and all of the other wonderful students in the St. Theresa Band program at our Annual Christmas Concert coming up on December 14th at 6:30 pm!

The Basketball Blast
JJV GIRLS
The St. Theresa School JJV girls' team took the court today for their first-time ever (for every team member) against a more experienced St. Marks team. The Tigers never gave up and came back from a 16-0 deficit at halftime and outscored their opponent 10 to 4 in the second half. The final score was 20 St. Marks -10 St. Theresa School. Congratulations to the JJV girls' basketball team for showing great courage and heart!

Next game:  Saturday, October 31st at 10:50 am  at St. Jude's in Monroe.

Varsity Girls
The Varsity Girls played their first league game on Saturday at St. Ann's. They won 32-6. It was a team effort!!! Our opponent was a combo of St. Ann & Assumption schools. We scored 20 points very quickly in the first quarter so the team eased off scoring and worked on their plays and passing allowing our junior players more play experience. We hope to continue to improve and win more games as the season gets underway.

Next game: Friday, October 30, 6 pm at St. Jude's in Monroe.

JJV Boys
On Saturday the St. Theresa JJV Boys Baskeball team earned their first victory over Assumption in their first game of the season. The score was 23-17 with Richard Tuzzoli having 11 pts., Bryan Wilson with 10 pts., and Mason Beardsworth with 2pts.

Next game: Saturday, October 31, 9:40 am at St. Jude's in Monroe.
