Scouting for new ALC students

The Agadez Learning Center (ALC) provides a place for 25 nomadic students to live, study and pursue their dreams of education. The primary school graduates have no hopes to continue their studies as rural education does not go past grade 6. In October, the ALC Director, Alhassene Aboubacar, took an arduous 10-day journey in the Air Mountains to recruit students for this years 7th grade class.

3 Generations Supporting Girls' Education

Patty Anderson learned about RAIN through her grandmother, Ellie Sanderson and through her church, Community Church of Durham. Ever y yea r on Patty's birthday, Ellie gives her money equal to her age to donate to her   c hosen cause. This year we are honored to accept Patty's $13 donat ion, which is in "support of education for girls ."
Patty's mother, Martha, was kind enough to share the story behind the "modest donation that a lot of people participated in." We thank all who participated in this gift, and feel privileged to pass along Patty's donation to help someone like Naoudi or Mariama (pictured above) on their educational journey.

Education Gives Girls A Voice
Give the Gift of Education this Holiday Season

RAIN's programs for education go far beyond access to schools. Your gifts provide mentoring and other programs to ensure that the children remain in school. With your gifts we will reach more children, more women, more communities.

In this season of giving
