We are saddened to inform you that Joan Kirby, R.S.C.J. passed away the morning of September 9th, 2015. For fourteen years, Sr. Kirby was the main representative of the Temple of Understanding to the United Nations. This August, Sr. Kirby was one of four individuals to be given an award in the General Assembly of the United Nations, "Honoring Those at the UN Who Bring Civil Society Forward". We will all miss her clarity of thought and action and her steadfast vision of a peaceful world.
