The Finish line

On April 25, 170 adventurous scooter riders of all ages showed up for the quest to break a World Record.  Although 250 people registered for the event, rain and cold kept many home.

Those in attendance had a great time riding, enjoying the exceptional DJ and the antics of event organizer and cheerleader extraordinaire Randy Simonian.

Special thanks to the Sponsors of this event including: The Giving Tree, Austin's Violin Shop, Artists View, Kernel's Gourmet Popcorn,RED 27 Designs,

Buttrey Wulff Mamminga Insurance, Music Matters, Schmanke Media, Kirby Built, Private Bank and The Shodeen Cororation.

Wear your red nose for a chance to win!

According to www.rednoseday.org, "Red Nose Day is a campaign dedicated to raising money for children and young people living in poverty by simply having fun and making people laugh." Originating in the United Kingdom 30 years ago, the nonprofit organization Comic Relief Inc. organizes Red Nose Day. The inaugural Red Nose Day in the United States is on May 21 and culminates with a three-hour entertainment special on NBC.  Proceeds from the event will be directed to 12 charities (including United Way) that aid children and young people world wide. Red noses are on sale at Walgreens for $1 with 50% of the proceeds going to Red Nose Day.

Drop off a 4 x 6" hard copy photo of you (or a group), wearing the red nose at either Rossario's Fine Jewelry, 60 N. Island Ave. or Aliano's Ristorante, 90 N. Island Ave. in  Batavia. Photos will be posted in storefront windows as they come in and should be clearly marked with a name and phone number on the back. On May 21, the day of the Red Nose entertainment special on NBC, all photos will go into a basket for raffle drawings.  Three winners will be pulled at 7:30 p.m. and will receive a $25 gift certificate to Aliano's.

Where did you wear your red nose? Prom, mowing the yard, boating?

BATFEST 5K/10K and Kids Fun Run - October 24, 2015

There is no better time for a walk or run than a crisp fall day - especially when it is along the Fox River when the leaves are in full fall color.  Batavia United Way invites you to participate in the BatFest 5K/10K at the level of your choice. Following the run, bring your fans and cheerleaders to Pal Joey's for a Pancake Breakfast to relax and re-cap your morning.

In keeping with the BatFest theme, costumes will be encouraged for the Kids Fun Run.
