Justice Conference Simulcast at Central Presbyterian

How do we expand and sharpen the conversations many of us have already been having about themes of justice in the wake of these recent weeks in Baltimore?  We need to expand the conversation so that we don't all slip into our favorite reductionistic explanations, but rather see the way that justice is a theme that weaves its way in and out of our lives both locally and globally.  We also need to sharpen the conversation, so that the breadth and depth of the subject doesn't paralyze us from doing the next thing that God places before us, but rather empowers us to imagine new ways of living justice practically.

All presbytery pastors and congregations are invited to a local simulcast for The Justice Conference -- one of the largest global events devoted to themes of biblical and social justice, bringing together world -- class speakers and artists to catalyze emerging works of justice both locally and around the world. On Saturday, June 6, Central Presbyterian is hosting the local simulcast for Baltimore and welcomes your involvement in this community-wide event.

The conference will explore the idea of "Living Justice." The speakers and conversations on this day will frame the biblical and social justice dialogue as well as inspire imaginative ministry in our local context.  National speakers include Louie Giglio, Bob Goff, and Otis Moss, and we'll also be hearing from leaders in anti-trafficking, refugee and immigrant services, and communities affected by incarceration.
