Your 100-miler checklist
If you're planning to go the distance in this year's Lake Ontario Shorthanded Racing Series Race 4 - more commonly known as the 100-miler - here's a pre-race checklist to get you to - and across - the finish line.
Plan to attend the skippers' meeting
As this an overnight race, we encourage all competitors to attend the skippers meeting at 19:30 EDT, Friday, August 14 at PCYC. In addition to sizing up your competition, there will be a rum draw and other prizes to sweeten your pre-race experience. If you plan to dock your vessel as a guest of Port Credit Yacht Club overnight, please register with PCYC online. Be compliant for a Category 3 Race
As the only Category 3 race in the LOSHRS series (the rest are Category 4), all competitors in the Long Distance Race must meet stability requirements, as documented in the Notice of Race.

Solo racers: Use this as your GLSS qualifier
For those racing singled handed, the LOSHRS Long Distance Race can be used as a GLSS qualifier, however you must sail more than 24 hours without stopping. If you complete the race in less than 24 hours, continue to sail until you have completed the 24 hours, such as looping to Gibraltar and back as necessary.
Race this one to compete for LOSHRs overall
This Long Distance race is a requirement for all racers competing for the overall results in their fleets. Final results will be based on your three best day races and your result in the Long Distance race.
