Lake Ontario Offshore Racing
Newsletter

Race day is just about here. We have a wonderful fleet of competitive sailors ready to do battle in numerous divisions spanning tenacious solo mariners to fully crewed super-fast hard core racers. We all have a goal in the Lake Ontario 300/600 Challenge and the organizing committee is confident that your skill and determination will be rewarded in many ways over the course of the race. Safety should always your top priority but testing your navigational, sail handling and tactical prowess is the fun part. It's what brings us back to this great event year after year.

Port Credit Yacht Club is ready to welcome you and your crew on Friday evening for the Skipper's meeting and a pre-race party. Don't miss it.

Saturday will see quite a few spectator boats out on the water following all the action down to the Gibraltar mark. This will afford some great photo opportunities but remember to keep clear of the starting area. Share your photos by posting them to our Facebook page.

Nothing more to do but keep an eye on the weather and look forward to a fabulous few days of racing. It doesn't get any better than this!

Fast sailing,

Joe Doris

Once again this year all the returning, thirsty sailors from the Lake Ontario 300 are welcome to stop by and see Che Decastro of The Yacht Shop aboard the the host boat "Redemption" and enjoy a complimentary cold beer. Redemption is stunning 2010 Dufour which is listed for sale with The Yacht Shop.

Your tattered and torn old Mount Gay hat could win you a nice bottle if you happen to be wearing it at the end of our skippers meeting on Friday Night.

Broad Reach Foundation

Our favourite charity will once again be on our front lawn with another great raffle to provide you a chance to support this excellent charity that uses sailing as a means to turn around and shape youths in Toronto.

Fuelling your boat

If you are coming in from out of town and need fuel, please be advised that there is a gas dock at the Marina across from PCYC. Same applies for if you need it after the race.
