Greetings of the season! With boats put away and the sailing on ice, it's a good time to reflect on a memorable Lake Ontario Offshore Racing season - and anticipate another exciting year ahead of us.

From last year's season opener of a Susan Hood Trophy Race in light air, to the wild ride of the Lake Ontario 300 Challenge (twice as wild on the LO 600!), to the always challen

Plus, look for the LOOR Offshore Racing speaker series coming soon to your friendly neighbourhood yacht club... read on for details of all these events. On behalf of our organizing committee, we wish all our participants, on-shore crew, spectators and volunteers, warm wishes and great sailing in 2015.

LOOR, The Roadshow

Coming soon to a yacht club near you: the LOOR OffShore Racing speaker series. Please mark your calendars to participate in one of our sailing seminars, for ideas and insight on everything from race tactics to boat prep.

Brent Hughes Featured speaker Brent Hughes, 2014 Sperry Cup Winner, will share his adventures of racing solo against the big guys - and winning - on a 20-year-old boat. Brent is an accomplished sailor who has raced his entire life, from his early days of junior championships. Now an avid solo sailor, Brent provides excellent insights on what it takes to succeed in offshore racing. This month, we'll be at NYC Jan. 21 and ABYC Jan 29.

Relive your LO300 moments

New! Visit our YellowBrick archives to see the trackers from the last four editions of the Lake Ontario 300 challenge. Retrace your own tracks, or study to see how other similarly sized boats fared. Go to the tracker archives. Like what you see? You can also purchase a photographic rendering of your boat's track on the course.

Speaking of YellowBrick...

Back by popular demand from Lake Ontario 300 race participants and fans, LOOR is pleased to be offering the YellowBrick tracking system once again in 2015. This satellite race tracking is a premium service, and one of the most important components of our race operation. Investing in this service has helped us build participation in Lake Ontario's premier offshore sailing event, involve family and friends and provide our sponsors with exposure to an influential - and growing - audience.

We rely on sponsorship to help keep race registration fees as low as possible, while offering top-notch services. If you know an individual or organization that may wish to support offshore racing and connect with active racers, please contact Darren Gornall (416-804-7974) or Joe Doris (416-801-6551) at LOOR.

Thank you for your support.
