Chennai Floods
Our prayers with the people of Tamil Nadu who witnessed the country's worst flood in a century. With every calamity, humanity rises again and brings people together. The social media era has given us an opportunity be part of rescue mission in floods. OVBI with Art of Living, Sewa International and other organizations formed a whats-app group connecting ground zero volunteers and NRIs in USA, UK and Canada. We called the helpline numbers to locate the people stranded in floods by setting up a control room helping each request that came. A group of doctors with all specialty was formed and consulted for various medical needs. Timely help was sent to women in labor and babies were delivered safely. Lot of people got the news that their family is safe through this team which was not possible otherwise due to network unavailability. Relief work including housing, food, medicines and other supplies was done. We have a long way ahead. Please continue to pray and help us through anyway you can. OVBI is also working closely with IAHV- International Association of Human values during this crisis in our country.
