Reflecting on 2015 and the notable year it was for Colorado Business Roundtable, we produced a one-page summary and a short video.  We highlight policy advocacy, event collaborations and network partnerships -- but those lists are by no means exhaustive! KEY ISSUE - EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE
Hiring Our Heroes is a nationwide initiative to help veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses find meaningful employment opportunities. This program is an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and it has a nationwide reach with many opportunities across the country such as military transition summits, hiring fairs and health expos for veterans.

Hiring Our Heroes has a local presence as well, particularly through U.S. Army installation Fort Carson which will host a Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program starting next month. Through Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program, outgoing active duty military will be able to prepare for the civilian workforce while still serving. They will also build their networks through professional and personal branding, find fellowship with local and national employers and learn how to transition to a non-military workplace...  Read More

BRT Welcomes Passage of Information Sharing Legislation This legislation will provide a voluntary and non-regulatory foundation for advancing public and private sector cybersecurity.
Congress Encourages Growth for Derivatives End-Users  Business Roundtable President John Engler applauded passage of legislation that exempts non-financial end-users that employ centralized treasury units (CTUs) from clearing requirements. Congress approved the fix to the Dodd-Frank Act as part of the year-end spending bill.

Shea Homes Colorado, the master developer of communities such as  Highlands Ranch Reunion  and  Stepping Stone , announced its purchase of 1,270 acres in The Canyons, located east of I-25 in the City of Castle Pines, between the Hess Road and Happy Canyon Road interchanges. 

The company will oversee the development of a new master-planned residential community, which, at build-out, will feature 2,000 single and multi-family homes from a variety of builders. Shea Homes, which expects to invest $75,000,000 in the community over the next four years...  Read More
