CONGRATULATIONS TO THE
DENVER BRONCOS
AFC CHAMPIONS!
ODELL C. BERRY
TRIBUTE TO A
FORMER DENVER BRONCO
Long-Time Five Points Property and Business Owner
|
Odell still holds a place in the Broncos' record books with the second-most
kickoff return yards in a season.
|
After his retirement from professional football, Odell Barry involved himself heavily in the civic affairs of Northglenn, CO.
He built a successful real estate business with his wife, Glenda, and raised his family. These years were a preamble to his historic 1980 election as the first African-American mayor of Northglenn.
Odell was the first African-American citizen to become a charter member of Rotary International, the first African-American citizen to become president of the Colorado Civil Defense Association, the chair of the Colorado Economic Development Commission, and a crucial advocate for building, and bringing a professional baseball team, the Colorado Rockies, to Colorado.
In 2006, Odell was inducted into the Ford-Warren Library's esteemed Blacks in Colorado" Hall of Fame.
Odell Barry is a Coloradan who has made a substantial impact on our State while serving as a role model for achievement in the African-American community.
In recognition of his achievements and his already secure place in Colorado history, the Five Points Business District and the Five Points community
pay tribute to Odell C. Barry congratulating him for a lifetime of accomplishments!

DENVER DIGS TREES APPLICATIONS DUE FEB. 15
|
Trees are just $10 for those who live in the 27 targeted neighborhoods, which were selected based on their low tree coverage. This year's target neighborhoods are Athmar Park, Baker, Barnum, Barnum West, Chaffee Park, Clayton, Cole, College View/South Platte, East Colfax, Elyria-Swansea, Five Points, Globeville, Green Valley Ranch, Jefferson Park, Lincoln Park, Mar Lee, Montbello, Northeast Park Hill, Overland, Ruby Hill, Skyland, Sun Valley, Valverde, Villa Park, West Colfax, Westwood, and Whittier.
Residents of those neighborhoods, as well as Denverites in all other areas, are encouraged to purchase reduced cost trees to beautify the city.
Treeships (free trees) are also available for those who qualify. Additionally, tree delivery and planting support is offered for those who need assistance. Denverites not living in one of the target neighborhoods can still purchase reduced cost trees for just $35 each.
